CLARKSVILLE CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL SESSION March 16, 2022 (CONTINUATION OF SPECIAL SESSION MEETING RECESSED ON MARCH 8, 2022) MINUTES CALL TO ORDER Special session of the Clarksville City Council was called to order by Mayor Joe Pitts on Thursday, March 16, at 5:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers, 106 Public Square, Clarksville, Tennessee. ATTENDANCE PRESENT: Brian Zacharias (Ward 1), Vondell Richmond (Ward 2), Wallace Redd (Ward 4), Ambar Marquis (Ward 5), Wanda Smith (Ward 6), Travis Holleman (Ward 7) Wanda Allen (Ward 8), Karen Reynolds (Ward 9), Stacey Streetman (Ward 10), Trisha Butler (Ward 12) ABSENT: DaJuan Little (Ward 3) *Ward 11 currently vacant CITY COUNCIL VACANCIES 1. Review of Procedure Eric Bittner, City Attorney’s Office Eric Bittner from the City Attorney’s Office reviewed the process for appointing members to vacant seats in accordance with the City Code. The City Clerk announced the names of the applicants for Ward 11: 1. Joe Shakeenab 2. Rick Reda The following votes for applicants for Ward 11 were recorded as follows: ROUND 11: Reda 4, Shakeenab, 7 Having received 7 votes, Mr. Shakeenab was sworn in as the Councilperson for Ward 11.
