Tree Board

Tree Board Minutes January 8th, 2020 at 4 pm Attendance: Wes Powell, Joey Redman, Brian Beuscher, Dottie Mann and Alexandra Wills 1. Brian began by giving an update of Tracey Jackson. With continuing health concerns, Tracey has agreed to step down as a voting board member and attend whatever meetings he can as a concerned citizen/consultant. His Knowledge of the Tree Board’s past is still invaluable to the current board. Wes asked the Board to reach out to anyone that they think would be a good addition to the board. 2. Dottie brought in an example of the Clarksville Country Club Logo to use as a reference for our logo. Wes asked the other board member to email their suggestions. 3. Wes gave Kathrine’s report in her absence. He reported that the Christmas tree chipping service had been advertised through Parks and Rec PR, radio and social media. Also the lights on the Franklin St trees will be removed this week. There are still many parks with damage from the storm this past Fall. Trice Landing is the worst and will have to go out for bid to be cleaned up. Kathrine will be attending a Landscape Management Short Course this month for ISA continuing education points. She is also working on her yearly Forestry Dossier and should have it for the Board in February. 4. The Board suggested using local Churches, Community Centers or the Public Library for Citizen Forester Classes. Classes will be once per week for 6 weeks. We need to find out if there is a charge to reserve the rooms. 5. Brian reported for Eddie that CDE plans to do another bill stuffer in April for right tree right place. With no further business the meeting was adjourned.
