MINUTES CLEVELAND MUNICIPAL PLANNING COMMISSION TUESDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2017 AT 6:00 PM CLEVELAND MUNICIPAL BUILDING 190 CHURCH STREET NE The regular meeting of the Cleveland Municipal Planning Commission was called to order by Dee Burris, Chairman, at 6 P.M. Members present included Larry Presswood, Dee Burris, David May, Jr., Tricia Pennington, Bill Hamilton, Maryl Elliott, Clarke Taylor, and Gary Dennis. Clarke Taylor arrived at 6:.01 P.M. Members absent included Walt Vineyard. Legal Counsel present included John Kimball, Attorney for the City of Cleveland. Staff present included Corey Divel, Senior Planner, Jonathan Jobe, Director of Development and Engineering Services, Darla Jenkins, Executive Secretary, and Melinda Carroll, Assistant City Manager/Operations. Others present included Larry Bowers of The Cleveland Daily Banner, Randall Higgins, Tom Cate, Randy Brown of Brown Surveying, Derek Blackwood of MAP Engineers, Avery Johnson of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Dustin Hawkins of D&S Custom Homes and Tom Cassada. The minutes from the September 19, 2017 meeting were presented for approval. Bill Hamilton made a motion to approve and David May seconded the motion. A vote of 6-0 passed the motion. Gary Dennis abstained as he did not attend the September meeting. Clarke Taylor was not present. There were no Public Hearings. In the Consent Agenda, a. Request by CTP Properties for preliminary plat approval of Laurel Ridge Subdivision located on Tasso Ln NE. Property is zoned PUD17 Planned Unit Development Zoning District. Plat by Arrowpointe Surveying Company (pg1). b. Request by D&S Custom Homes for plat and setback approval of revised lot 2A of Brad Benton Property. Property is located on Pryor Dr and is zoned R3 High Density Zoning District (pg4). c. Request by Tom Cate for final plat approval of Cottages at the Farm located on North Lee Highway. Property is PUD12 Planned Unit Development. Plat by Cleveland Surveying Company (pg5). Clarke Taylor arrived at 6:01 P.M. David May, Jr., made a motion to approve subject to staff comments and Maryl Elliott seconded the motion. A vote of 8-0 passed the motion. There is no Old Business. In New Business, d. Request by Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church and Cleveland Housing Authority for abandonment of a portion of right-of-way just east of East St NE (pg5). David May, Jr. made a motion to approve and Gary Dennis seconded the motion. A vote of 8-0 passed the motion. There was no Chairman’s Report. There was no Director’s Report. The meeting was adjourned at 6:08 P.M.
