SPECIAL CALLED MEETING
CLEVELAND MUNICIPAL PLANNING COMMISSION
TUESDAY, JUNE 4, 2019 AT 12:00PM
CLEVELAND MUNICIPAL BUILDING 190 CHURCH STREET NE
The special called meeting of the Cleveland Municipal Planning Commission was called
to order by Dee Burris, Chairman, at 12:00 P.M.
Members present included Dee Burris, Clarke Taylor, Maryl Elliott, Larry Presswood
and Alma Dotson.
Members absent included Tricia Pennington, Bill Hamilton, and Jamie Creekmore.
David May, Jr. resigned as a municipal planning commissioner on May 22, 2019.
Legal Counsel present included John Kimball, Attorney for the City of Cleveland.
Staff present included Jonathan Jobe, Director of Development and Engineering
Services, Joe Fivas, City Manager, Darla Jenkins, Executive Secretary and Corey Divel,
Senior Planner.
Others present included Mitchell Kinder of Cleveland Surveying, Dustin Tommey of City
Fields, and Blake Allison of Epperson Homes, LLC.
There were no minutes for approval as this meeting was a special called meeting.
There were no Public Hearings.
In the Consent Agenda,
a. Request by Blue Coastal Homes for preliminary plat approval of Spring
Crossing. Property is located on 21st St SE and is zoned R2 Low Density
Single and Multi-family Residential Zoning District. Plat by Richmond
Surveying Company (pg1).
b. Request by Epperson Homes, LLC for final plat approval of Stone Creek
Subdivision lots 20-31 & 37-61. Property is located off New Murraytown Rd and
is zoned R1 Single Family Residential Zoning District. Plat by Cleveland
Surveying Company(pg5).
c. Request by Spring Brook Community Dev. for final plat approval of Spring
Creek Highlands. Property is located on Cross Creek Court and is zoned PUD
4 Planned Unit Development. Plat by Cleveland Surveying Company (pg7).
Clarke Taylor made a motion to approve the consent agenda subject to staff
comments and Larry Presswood seconded the motion. A vote of 5-0 passed the
motion. Yes – 5, No – 0, Absent - 3
There was no Old Business.
In New Business,
a. Request by City Fields for application of infill standards for a property located
at 1070 Blythe Ave SE (Map 57E Group H Parcel 10.00) (pg9).
Larry Presswood made a motion to approve item and Alma Dotson seconded the
motion. Voting 5-0, the motion passed. Yes – 5, No – 0, Absent - 3
b. Consideration of an amendment to the zoning ordinance concerning the
regulations governing billboards within the City of Cleveland. REMOVE
This item was removed from the agenda. No discussion was held.
In the Chairman’s Report,
Dee Burris submitted his resignation from the planning commission.
In the Director’s Report,
Corey Divel stated the annual state required training was scheduled on July 17,
2019. More details will be emailed to the commissioners.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:08 P.M.
