MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COHOES BOARD OF ETHICS, HELD ON MONDAY, JUNE 25, 2018 IN THE COMMON COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF CITY HALL Members Present: Charles Valenti, Chairperson Deborah Gilchrist, Member David Emanatian, Member Member Excused: Erin Roditis, Alternate Member The meeting came to order at 5:25 p.m. Items Considered: 1. Complaint No. 18-1: The Complaint alleged that the Chairman of the Board of Ethics should resign from the Board for malfeasance in office. Since the Board of Ethics has no authority to remove a member from office, the matter was referred to the Common Council pursuant to Section 36-19 D (9) of the Code of Ethics. The Board noted that on May 8, 2018 the Common Council met to consider the matter and decided that Complaint No. 18-1 was unfounded. Since the matter had been addressed by the Common Council, the Board of Ethics felt that no further action needed to be taken. 2.The minutes of the previous meeting of the Board were approved by a unanimous vote. 3. The Chairman informed the Board members that the Code of Ethics may be revised in the near future. The date of the next meeting is to be determined later. The meeting was adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
