MINUTES OF THE COHOES PLANNING BOARD MEETING HELD ON AUGUST 14th, 2017 AT 6:30 P.M. IN THE COMMON COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF CITY HALL MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Bob Bucher Ms. Stephanie Couture Mr. Joseph Nedeau ABSENT: Vice Chairman Jack Carroll Chairman Mark DeFruscio ALSO PRESENT: Kara McKnight, City Planner CONSIDERATION OF THE MINUTES FROM THE MAY 8TH, 2017 MEETING Acting Chairwoman Couture opened the meeting at 6:30pm and asked the recording secretary to take roll call. Member Nadeau moved to approve the minutes. Chairman Bucher seconded the motion which passed unanimously. YES NO Bob Bucher X Joseph Nadeau X Mark DeFruscio ABSENT Jack Carroll ABSENT Stephanie Couture X CONSIDERATION OF A PECIAL PERMIT AT 77 ONTARIO STREET Tim Freddette, the owner of Island Sprits Wine and Liquor on 93 Ontario Street, is planning to move his store to 77 Ontario Street. He is applying for a special permit to place a sign on the building that measures at 30” x 120” and a free standing sign at the corner of the lot that measures at 49” x 73.5”. The signs will be placed precisely where the previous signs were hanging when it was a Cumberland gas station. All of the measurements, colors and illumination fall within the Code for the district it is in. Member Nedeau makes a motion to approve the special permit and Member Bucher seconds.
