Reviewed the February 25, 2016 and March 30, 2016 minutes. Mr. Turley made a motion to accept both sets of minutes. Ms. Stange seconded the motion. All in favor; no opposed. 2. Ms. Cooper reported there are no animals in the shelter. There are two cats at Petco: Patches and Morgan. Tiger II was adopted. No dogs were brought into the shelter. 3. Ms. Cooper reported that there is a balance of $12,245 in the AWC fund. Vet expenses are $2557. Cost control recovery expenses are $2550. Received $75 for Tiger II adoption and there are $1031.60 for invoices. 4. Maryland Day is April 30 on the University of Maryland campus from 10am-4pm. Mr. Brennan and Ms. Rodeffer will be present for part of the morning and afternoon. Ms. DeWalt volunteered to be there for two hours in the early afternoon. 5. The Hollywood Farmer’s Market opened on April 23rd; unfortunately AWC did not have a table. Senior Citizens Day is May 14; AWC will try and be present for that date. Other May dates will be reviewed and an email will go out to members about volunteering. 6. Ms. Cooper indicated that $1031.60 was spent for 300 dispensers and 500 bags. Mr. Turley made a motion that AWC should pay the invoice for these items. Ms. Stange seconded the motion. All in favor; no opposed 7. There is a neighbor of Mr. Brennan who has 20-30 cats of which six belong to the neighbor and the rest are feral. Apparently the neighbor tried working with Alley Cat, but the rescues did not go well. The neighbor claims that 17 of the cats are spayed or neutered, but none of them are ear-tipped. Ms. Cooper stated that if the neighbor is willing, all of the cats should be trapped, taken to Spay Now to check to see which are spayed/neutered, update vaccines, and ear tip the cats. Committee members and city employees cannot assist. However, private citizens can  assist with the trapping and transporting to the vet. The costs could come for the AWC program. 8. Neighborhood update: a. Ms. Donaty stated that there is big, fluffy white cat that roams. He seems to belong to someone, but likes to visit. b. Ms. Bellamy stated that there is a Yorkie that is always off leash. c. Berwyn is reporting a nuisance dog. Ms. Cooper thinks it could be the dachshund named Jr. d. There is a missing cat in Oak Springs. 9. HB494 bill pass on April 1 by the Maryland Congress. It was signed into law by Governor Hogan on April 27. 10. Ms. Cooper stated that PetFinders.com is sponsoring an Adoption conference on May 5 from 9am-5pm. You must sign up at least five days in advance. You can email Ms. Cooper if you are interested in attending. 11. With the offices moving into Davis Hall, the AWC committee will be meeting at the VFW on 51st Street. The next meeting will be May 26 at 7:00pm. Ms. Bellamy made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Ms. Stange seconded the motion. All in favor; no opposed. The meeting was adjourned at 7:48pm.
