Mr. Beavers announced that he has over 10 entries for the litter prevention slogan contest. This Saturday, April 30, 2016, is the final day that entries will be accepted. 2. The minutes from the March 28 meeting were reviewed. Ms. Oppelt made the motion to accept the minutes. Ms. Weene seconded the motion. All in favor; no opposed. 3. There is approximately $1100 left in the budget for this fiscal year. A suggestion was made to dedicate $300-$500 for a rain barrel for the Old Parrish House. 4. Ms. Weene made a motion to approval expenditures as follows: a. $300 for herbal spices, oil, vinegar workshop to include an herb discussion, speaker fee and supplies b. $400 for supplies for Bike to Work Day on May 20 c. $150 for the May 14 Composting workshop ($100 speak fee, $50 refreshments) d. $700 for Doggie Depot at place TBD e. $100 for shared expenses for CPAE Birdwalk guide and refreshment on April 17 f. $830 for plantings – end of Kenesaw Street, entrance to Davis field/playgroud, rain garden plants at Duvall, end of Cherokee Street. Ms. Termini seconded the motion. All in favor; no opposed. 5. Ms. Termini discussed the garden sale that will be held on May 7 at High Point School. She will send the link to Mr. Beavers for posting. 6. Ms. Oppelt talked about the April 17 bird walk. 7. Good Neighbor Day on Saturday, March 28 was successful. Mr. Hew worked with a group of people on the permaculture garden; others worked on the garden last Saturday also. There were a number of visitors to the table set up in the Recreation Center. 8. Reviewed the APC fence recommendation. Item #4 applies to CBE. 9. Discussed attendance at committee meetings. Per the information received from the City, if an individual misses three meetings in a row, the recommendation can be made to have that individual removed from the committee. There are a couple CBE members who have missed three meetings. 10. The idea of having a workshop on dandelion was suggested. Further discussion will take place at the May meeting. 11. The next meeting is scheduled for May 23 at 7:00pm at the United Methodist Church. Ms. Oppelt made a motion to end the meeting. Mr, Larsen seconded the motion. The meeting ended at 7:50pm.
