Reviewed the October 27, 2016 minutes. Mr. Turley made a motion to accept the minutes. Ms. Stange seconded the motion. All in favor; no opposed. 2. Ms. Cooper reported that there was a total intake of six cats and one dog taken into the shelter. Seven cats and one dog have been adopted. One additional dog, Jackson, has been given to the Rottweiler rescue. There are four cats in the shelter. Five kittens are in foster and will be taken next week to be spayed and neutered. Kirby is currently at Petco with two pending adoption applications. 3. Ms. Cooper reported that there is a balance of $11,194 in the AWC fund. Vet expenses are $1421 year to date: radiography and ultra sounds were a major part of the cost. Cost control recovery expenses are $1440 year to date. 4. Neighborhood information: a. Mr. Brennan is still trying to reach out to Mr. Thomas’ daughter. b. On November 1, one cat has been spayed using the grant monies available. 5. Pet pictures with Santa will be taking place at the Petco in Beltsville on Saturday, December 10 and Saturday, December 17 from 1pm-4pm. 6. Ms. Cooper has confirmed a vet for the rabies clinic to be held in 2017. We just need to secure a venue, date and time. A suggestion was made to see if the United Methodist Church would allow us to use their facility. Mr. Brennan stated he would reach out to the church. 7. Ms. Cooper passed out copies of the Maryland Animal Standards Act that was passed by the State legislature and goes into effect on January 1, 2017. She also provided a written protocol and procedures for the College Park Animal Shelter. If anyone has comments or questions, please direct them to Ms. Cooper and copy Mr. Brennan. 8. As a result of the Maryland Standards Act, Ms. Cooper is having the shelter refurbished to meet the requirements. The final item to be completed is the floor which she hopes to have completed in the next two weeks. Ms. Bellamy made a motion to adjourn the meeting and commence with the pot luck dinner. Ms. Rodeffer seconded the motion. All in favor; no opposed. The meeting was adjourned at 7:35pm.
