The food and drink served as well as the small tokens of appreciation were paid for by the members of the AWC and no monies were spent from the AWC account. The meeting was called to order at 7:31pm by Ms. Rodeffer. 1. The agenda was reviewed and a motion was made by Ms. Bellamy to accept it. Ms. Stange seconded the motion. Motion carries 6-0-0. 2. The August 22, 2019 minutes were reviewed and a motion was made by Ms. Bellamy to accept the minutes as presented. Ms. Stange seconded the motion. Motion carries 6-0-0. 3. AWC Report from Ms. Cooper a. AWC Donation Account – $10,180 (No change from August 2019) b. Adoptions i. Taro (kitten) ii. Chairman Meow (kitten) iii. Chabi (kitten) iv. Opal (kitten) v. Bandit (dog) c. Fosters/Petco i. Lady (AKA Pearl), Stevie – foster with Ms. Rodeffer ii. Julian - Petco d. Reappointment i. Ms. Taimi Anderson has been reappointed for three years to the AWC. e. Petco – Cat Castle i. About two weeks ago the Plexiglas on the lower level of the cat castle was broken. Mr. Bob Schnabel secured the area with a piece of wood. The Petco Manager, Chris, have ordered a new door and was told it would be shipped in two weeks. The one cat at Petco has been secured on the other side and until the door is fixed, we will not be placing any more cats there. 4. Municipal Scene Articles a. Appropriate shelter – November - Kathy  5. Approval has been granted to hold the Microchip and Rabies clinic at the VFW College Park on November 17 from 10am-1pm. Any advertising will have to go through the City’s communication coordinator. Any other kind of vendors we would like to invite will have to go through the City’s event coordinator. Further discussion was tabled until the October meeting. 6. Discussed and reviewed City Code. Minimal comments, that were due by August 29, were received by Ms. Rodeffer and Ms. Bellamy on potential changes in the City Code. Ms. Rodeffer worked with Ms. Cooper on potential changes by reviewing codes from other jurisidictions and will send out to the committee for review and comments. Once the information is received from Ms. Rodeffer, It is crucial that all committee members review and give their feedback with 3 days to ensure that we are able to provide for the animals in College Park. 7. Prince George’s County Pit Bull Ban repeal letter will be discussed at a work session by Mayor and Council on October 1, 2019. Ms. Cooper will inform the committee as to placement on the agenda. 8. College Park Day is Saturday, October 5. Mr. Turner, Ms. Anderson and Ms. DeWalt have volunteered to be there for AWC. 9. The November meeting falls on Thanksgiving and Ms. Cooper offered potential dates for rescheduling. Ms. Bellamy made a motion to move the meeting to November 21, 2019. Ms. Stange seconded. Motion carries 6-0-0. 10. Discussed the idea of recruiting new members for the committee. 11. The next meeting will be on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 7:30pm in Davis Hall.
