The committee introduced themselves, meeting our new member: Stephanie Butler. 1. The agenda was reviewed, and a motion was made by Mr. Turley to accept it. Ms. Stange seconded the motion. Motion carries 9-0-0. 2. November 21, 2019 minutes were reviewed, and a motion was made by Ms. Ealley to accept the minutes as presented. Ms. Booth seconded the motion. Motion carries 8-0-1. 3. AWC Report from Ms. Cooper a. AWC Donation Account – $10,341. This does not include the recent $400 check received from Petco for the Pets with Santa picture in December. (reference November 19, 2019 minutes) b. Adoptions i. Sophie, Yoshi, Cali, and Neptune Love (all cats) c. Fosters/Petco i. Lady (AKA Pearl), Stevie – foster with Ms. Rodeffer ii. Pongo -- at Petco 4. Municipal Scene Articles a. February - chocolate candy and ribbon. Patti Stange b. March – heartworm and flea & ticks – Lisa Ealley c. April – flowers and bulbs – Marci Booth 5. A member asked for an investigation of a dog getting lose and living outside at 9628 51st Place. Ms. Cooper asked for the information and any pictures to be forwarded via email and she will investigate. 6. Ms. Cooper had provided copies of Council and Mayor’s resolution and information concerning the Committee on committees. Mr. Somers presented the information to the committee and explained the thought process and reasons behind Mayor and Council’s decision. Committee members were given the opportunity to ask questions. Mr. Somers invited the committee to send any further questions or comments through Ms. Cooper, the committee liaison. Discussed the Maryland Open Meetings Act and that committee members should be trained. Ms. Cooper will send out the link for the training. Ms. Cooper did inform the committee that Mayor and Council had given previous approval for AWC fundraising for the following: a. Donation/Tip jar at the Rabies/Microchip clinic or Farmer’s Market events b. Fund raisers at local restaurants c. Petco Foundation 7. Ms. Cooper will work with the veterinarian who volunteers her services for our rabies/microchip clinic for a spring date. 8. Upcoming events: a. World of Pets Expo, January 24-26 at Timonium Fairgrounds b. Maryland Day, April 25, 2020, 10:00am-4:00pm at University of Maryland 9. The next meeting will be on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 7:30pm in Davis Hall. Ms. Booth made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Second by Ms. Stange. The meeting was adjourned at 8:40pm.
