The Bee City Committee meeting was called to order by Ms. Ulloa-Bustos at 7:04 pm. The committee welcomed our newest member, Valerie Novak. 1. Review and approval of agenda Ms. Lindstrom motioned to accept the agenda and Mr. Cifaldi seconded. Motion carries 4-0-0. 2. January 2024 minutes Ms. Lindstrom motioned to accept the January 10, 2024, minutes and Mr. Cifaldi seconded. Motion carries 4-0-0. 3. Plants at Davis Hall Ms. Ulloa-Bustos will go to Davis Hall to check on the species of plants there and to count how many plants. These plants can be donated to other projects and/or can be returned to the Bee Lab in March. If there are any committee members interested in plants, please contact Ms. Ulloa-Bustos. 4. Bee Lab Updates Ms. Ulloa-Bustos and Mr. Barr will be ordering seeds for the Bee Lab. They need to be ordered within the next two weeks so they will be ready for planting in March at the Bee Lab. Hours at the Bee Lab, when it opens in March, will be Thursdays, 3:00pm-6:00pm and Saturdays, 10:00am-2:00pm. 5. Municipal Scene – articles are due to Mr. Barr on the 20th of the month prior. March – No Mow April – Mr. Cifaldi April – Native Plants – Ms. Novak May – Bee Hotels – Ms. Ulloa-Bustos June – Interviews of Green Award winners July – Nighttime Lights – Ms. Espindola 7. Bee City Certification Renewal The Xerces Society renewal is due at the end of February. Ms. Ulloa-Bustos is working on the 1  report and will be sent to the committee by February 23rd to review prior to submission. Mr. Barr will be submitting the final report to the Xerces Society along with the recertification payment. 8. April event Kim Stringer, with Prince George’s Parks, would like to ask the committee to volunteer with a planting event. The suggestion was made to ask CBE and TLB to also participate. The committee recommended April 20th at 10:00am and they will ask to work at Lake Artemesia. Following the planting event, the Bee City committee will meet for a good-bye lunch, around 12:30pm, for Marc Pound – place TBD. 9. March Meeting The March meeting will be on March 13 at 7:00pm.
