Robert Thurston X Also present : Kiaisha Barber, Michelle Johnson Executive Director Housing Authority City of College Park; Joi Woods, Contract Secretary I. Guest Speaker Michelle Johnson Executive Director Housing Authority – College Park Guest Speaker Michelle Johnson provided the committee with an overview of the organization. The presentation also highlighted: A. The establishment of a non-profit organization B. Capital Improvement goals C. Attick Towers funding Capital Improvement needs $16,537,816 II. Discussion and Q&A The committee and Michelle Johnson discussed: A. Potential partnership with Habitat for Humanity B. Establishing a Capital Fundraising Campaign to support Capital Improvements for Attick Towers Old Business I. Call to Order Mary Anne Hakes called the meeting to order at 8:11 p.m. 1 III. Approval of Agenda- November 3, 2021 Bonnie McClellan motioned to approve the agenda. Arelis Perez seconded the motion. All were in favor, none opposed. The motion passed. IV. New Member Welcome, Janet Hawley New Member Janet Hawley introduced herself to the committee. V. Arelis Perez, Jack Perry Award The committee shared congratulatory remarks in honor of Arelis Perez, Jack Perry Award recipient. VI. Approval of Minutes Arelis Perez motioned to approve the minutes from October 6, 2021 as amended. Bonnie McClellan seconded the motion. All were in favor, none opposed. The motion passed. VII. Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland A. Kiaisha Barber shared communication with the Mayor and council on behalf of the Seniors Advisory Committee to request allocation of ARPA funds. The request for allocated fund is to establish a parternship with Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland. B. The committee discussed:  Establishing a request for 1.3 million  Municipal Scene Resident survey – the use of ARPA funding  Supporting requests for funding Housing Authority in support of Capital Improvements of Attick Towers VIII. Other Discussion A. Annual Report  Focus points & highlights to include ARRP Livability and with Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland partnership goals; Mary Anne Hakes will draft a report for review and include input from the committee for submission by December 31, 2021.  AARP Livability meetings are scheduled for 11/22/21 and 12/27/21 B. 2022 Meeting schedule Bonnie McClellan motioned to maintain the current meeting schedule for FY 2022 C. Committee vacancy  There is one Committee vacancy  Kiaisha Barber will forward an updated roster to the committee  Bonnie McClellan encouraged committee members to provide recommendations IX. Next Meeting: February 2, 2022 7:00-9:00 p.m. The committee discussed possible areas of focus for FY 2022: 2  Assisted Dwelling Units  Hotel Conversion  Market Level Housing for seniors X. Adjournment Arelis Perez motioned to adjourn the meeting . Bonnie McClellan seconded the motion. All were in favor, none opposed. The motion passed. The meeting was adjourned at 9:03 p.m. 3
