Call to Order
Ms. Bernache called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m.
Old Business
Approval of the January Meeting Minutes
The committee reviewed the meeting minutes from the January 28, 2019 meeting. Ms. Ellis
made a motion to approve the January meeting minutes as written. Second by Ms. Powers.
All members were in favor; no opposed.
Results of discussion with principal’s on February 12th
This topic is tabled for the next meeting.
Green School Awards
The committee reviewed the applications for the Green School Awards and considered the
following schools as being qualified:
Berwyn Heights
Hyattsville Middle
Paint Branch
Hollywood

The committee reviewed Cherokee Lane’s application and would like an update on the status of
the school garden and how the garden will be maintained during the summer before making a
final decision.
FY20 EAC Budget
The Committee reviewed the revised budget. Ms. Bernache asked the Committee to reach out to
their respective Councilmembers to inform them of the EAC’s request for a budget increase in
order to increase the grant awards due to the cost of inflation as well as to cover the cost for the
school background checks.
New Business
College Park Day
The books for College Park Day will need to be purchased by June 30, 2019. The stickers to
include in the books have already been ordered and received. Ms. Powers will select the books
for all ages and Ms. Bernache will select the journals. The budget for the books is $1,150 and
the breakdown is listed in the table below.

Dinner with Principals
On Tuesday, February 26, 2019, Cherokee Lane and University Park school principals will be
attending the City Council meeting to obtain their ceremonial checks. Prior to the City Council
meeting, the principal’s dinner will be held at Ledo’s at 6:00 p.m.
New Meeting Location Once City Hall is Under Construction
The committee will begin meeting at Davis Hall once City Hall is closed for construction.
