Call to Order
Ms. Bernache called the meeting to order at 7:34 p.m.
Old Business
Approval of the October Meeting Minutes
The Committee reviewed the meeting minutes from the October 21, 2019 meeting.
Mr. Toledo made a motion to approve the October meeting minutes as presented. Second
by Ms. Aikara. All members in favor; no opposed.
Update from Green School Awards Presentation
Ms. Bernache presented a flyer to the Committee members that was provided to school
Update on EAC Grants
Parkdale High School’s grant application is still pending. The Committee has given the school
an extension to submit their application by January 10, 2020.
Mr. Toledo motioned to provide Parkdale until January 10, 2020 to submit their grant
application. Second by Ms. Aikara. All members were in favor; no opposed.
Buck Lodge submitted their grant report for FY 2019. The school was awarded a $2,500 grant
that was allocated for a deposit to secure field trip transportation, but the remaining trip money
was not provided by the students by the due date, so the deposit was lost.

Ms. Greene-Colby motioned to request Buck Lodge to provide receipt of payment and the
contract that shows the deposit cannot be refunded. This documentation needs to be
provided in order for the Committee to approve the 2020 grant. Second by Ms. Currie. All
members in favor; no opposed.
The Committee discussed updating the grant year-end report to include documentation of how
the grant money used.
Ms. Bernache motioned to amend the end of year grant report to request documentation of
how the grant money was used, i.e. receipts. Second by Mr. Toledo. All members in favor;
no opposed.
New Business
Principal/Teacher Breakfast
The Committee will join the next event hosted by Youth and Family Services.
College Park Education Town Hall
The Committee discussed hosting a town hall within the City to discuss education topics. Ms.
Aikara will reach out to Joshua Thomas to see if he is able to run this type of forum.
Free Book Library
Ms. Greene-Colby would like to have a survey of the locations of the free libraries located in the
City and see if more can be added. It was suggested that each free library can have a theme.
Letter concerning gun control
Tabled for the January meeting.
Next Meeting Date
No December meeting is scheduled. The next meeting will be held on January 13, 2020.

Mr. Toledo adjourned the meeting at 9:01 p.m.
