Call to Order
Ms. Bernache called the meeting to order at 7:33 p.m.
Old Business
Approval of the September Meeting Minutes
The Committee reviewed the meeting minutes from the October 17, 2022, meeting.
Ms. Miller motioned to approve the minutes as presented. Second by Ms. Powers. 5
members in favor; no opposed; 2 members abstained. Motion carries, 5-0-2.
Update on Achievement Recognition Strategies
Ms. Miller emailed the schools to ask if the signs are being distributed and has only heard back
from Hollywood Elementary to date. Hollywood chose to post the recognition signs on the
school grounds instead of distributing to the parents. Hollywood requested to have signs in
Spanish as well as English. Ms. Bernache suggested for the Committee to re-visit new ideas to
display student recognition.
Update on The Every Child Project (TECP)
Ms. Barber provided an update that five out of ten applications have been received from
Greenbelt Middle. TECP applications will be accepted until the full capacity is met.
Update on Imagine Learning My Path Program
Ms. Barber provided an update that a proposal for the Imagine Learning will be presented at the
December 6th City Council’s worksession.
New Business
EAC School Grants
College Park Academy - $2,250 grant to expand the afterschool program to provide free and
reduced lunches for students.
Mr. Levin motioned to approve College Park Academy’s grant application. Second by Ms.
Peters. 5 members in favor, 1 member opposed, 1 member abstained. Motion carries, 5-1-1.
Paint Branch Elementary – $8,000 grant application for field trips and assemblies.
Mr. Levin motioned to approve Paint Branch’s grant application. Second by Mr. Warfield.
6 members in favor, no opposed, 1 member abstained. Motion carries, 6-0-1.
Cherokee Lane, High Point, University Park, Hollywood, and Parkdale have not submitted EAC
grant applications to date.
School PTA funding
Ms. Mackie suggested for the Committee to discuss providing funding to support the PTA/PTO
at schools in a future meeting.
Latinas in Aviation
Ms. Peters suggested to add the book “Latinas in Aviation” in the next EAC book distribution.
Annual Report
The annual report is due by the end of the year.

Ms. Bernache adjourned the meeting at 8:55 p.m.
