Approval of Meeting Agenda: The agenda for the February 18, 2021 meeting was reviewed. Motion: Revise the agenda to move the Urban Tree Protection Recommendations after approval of the January meeting minutes. Moved: Ms. Alexander Second: Ms. O’Brien Aye: Unanimous Nay: 0 Abstain: 0 2. Approval of January Meeting Minutes: The minutes of the January 21, 2021 meeting were reviewed and edits were made to the minutes. Motion: Accept January meeting minutes as amended. Moved: Ms. Alfred Second: Mr. Reitzel Aye: Unanimous Nay: 0 Abstain: 0 3. Public Works Department Report: Ms. Alexander shared the following highlights: • The landscape crew has been assigned to snow removal activities. 4. CBE Report: No updates. 5. Old Business a. Update Urban Tree Protection Recommendations The Board recapped on the meeting held with the City Council in regards to the Urban Tree Protection Recommendations and discussed next steps to move forward with finalizing the recommendations. The Board will present the 1  finalized recommendations at the City Council work session scheduled on April 20, 2021. 6. New Business a. UMD student group on City tree canopy – Ms. Alexander informed the Board of a student group in the iConsultancy Department at University of Maryland that will be conducting a needs assessment. b. Arbor Day – Discussions of the City Arbor Day event included a virtual event, however, there was additional discussion to plant a tree in the Lakeland Neighborhood in Adams Park or at one of the City churches. Ms. Alexander will send the Board some ideas to choose from to plan a virtual event. 7. Next Meeting Date The next meeting will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021. 8. Adjournment Ms. Alfred adjourned the meeting at 9:03 p.m. 2
