The City of Columbia City In Columbia County on the Columbia River STREET COMMITTEE MINUTES - amended March 5, 2012 MEETING City Hall, 1840 Second Street, Columbia City 7:00 p.m. Attendees: Casey Wheeler, Chair Dave Jensen, Committee Member Leahnette Rivers, City Administrator/Recorder Micah Rogers, Public Works Superintendent Chairman Wheeler called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Updates for draft 5-Year Capital Improvement Plan The Committee reviewed a proposed project list as recommended by staff. It was the consensus of the Committee that the proposed list looked good and that no other projects be added to the list at this time. SCA Project for 2013 The committee was unanimous in selecting the “L” Street project to be submitted again this year for the SCA grant. Last year’s application was not funded. Other Business The Committee discussed the crack seal work that was completed last fall. Leahnette suggested the Committee consider performing some crack seal work every year. Committee Members agreed that it would be a good way of preserving pavement areas that have not deteriorated to the point of alligatoring. Casey, Dave and Leahnette will perform a city-wide inventory of pavement conditions, and identify areas that would benefit from crack seal work during the process. Leahnette will distribute inventory sheets with specific areas assigned for each person completing the inventory work. The Committee reviewed a letter from Arjil Shrock expressing concerns about the street lighting on Park Street.
