The City of Columbia City In Columbia County on the Columbia River Hazard Mitigation Planning Group Meeting Minutes – April 27, 2015 - 6:00 p.m. City Hall, 1840 Second Street Columbia City, Oregon 97018 Members Present: Kelly Niles, ODF/Group Leader Josh Fromm, City Council Member Micah Rogers, Public Works Superintendant Michael McGlothlin, Chief of Police Vincent Aarts, Columbia County Emergency Management Frank Hupp, Citizen Member Dan McGraw, Citizen Member Meeting called to order at 6:04 pm Topics: Minutes approved from the March 23, 20015 Hazard Mitigation Planning Group Meeting. Motion made by Micah Rogers, seconded by Josh Fromm; passed unanimously. Discussion and review took place regarding the Community Emergency Notification System (CENS) Scripts as provided by Chief McGlothlin. Message concentration focused on shelter-in-place and evacuation messaging procedures. E-mail to be sent to remainder of planning group membership by Chief McGlothlin for final review and input at June, 2015 meeting. Discussion took place regarding the development of the Columbia City Continuity of Operations Plan. Chief McGlothlin provided draft documentation for review and will e-mail to remainder of planning group membership for further input. Vincent Aarts providing Chief McGlothlin with access to Bold Planning Inc. website as additional source and formatting assistance. 1 Kelly Niles briefed planning group on “Ready… Set… Go…” initiative. Discussion took place regarding adding this presentation to annual Prepare Fair event to be conducted in conjunction with the Columbia City Celebration. Other business: Chief McGlothlin briefed on information from Anne Parrott e-mail regarding this year’s Prepare Fair. Consensus was reached by the planning group to concentrate this year’s Prepare Fair focus upon information and displays around individual and family self-sufficiency during an emergency event lasting approximately two weeks. Date of Prepare Fair/City Celebration set for Saturday September 19, 2015. Next planning group meeting set for Monday June 22, 2015. Meeting adjourned at 7:00 pm. 2
