The City of Columbia City In Columbia County on the Columbia River PARKS COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES SEPTEMBER 29, 2015 - 5:00 P.M. COLUMBIA CITY VETERANS PARK 62601 COLUMBIA RIVER HIGHWAY COLUMBIA CITY, OR 97018 Present: Sally Ann Marson, Chair Nell Harrison, Committee Member Kathleen Devlin, Committee Member Jack Hruska, Committee Member Leahnette Rivers, City Administrator/Recorder Harvard Park: Members discussed the upcoming Eagle Scout Project, which will involve the relocation of the spinner and the installation of a new see-saw. In addition, members suggested we consider adding a drinking fountain with a step and a dog bowl to the project. Leahnette will check with Public Works to see if that is affordable and feasible given the timing of the project. Other Business: Sally Ann said the owners of the vacant lot located at 1720 Eighth Street would like to will the property to the City for park purposes if the City is interested. She said the lot is currently beautifully landscaped. MOVED (HRUSKA), SECONDED (HARRISON) AND CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY THAT THE PARKS COMMITTEE IS VERY INTERESTED IN THE CITY’S FUTURE ACQUISITION OF THE PROPERTY AND ENCOURAGES THE LANDOWNERS TO WORK WITH THE CITY ABOUT THE MATTER.
