The City of Columbia City In Columbia County on the Columbia River PARKS COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES AUGUST 13, 2024 - 6:00 P.M. City Hall Council Chambers – 1840 Second Street Present: Katrina Claridge, Committee Chair Karen Shervey, Committee Member Jack Hruska, Committee Member Jim Wills, Committee Member Sally Ann Marson, Committee Member Mark Gordon, Committee Member Kim Karber, City Administrator Micah Rogers, Public Works Superintendent Katrina called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Pixie Park: Kim updated the committee that D.A.R. is working on the deed for donating Pixie Park to the City. Jack noted that when the water is really low in the river, there are old pilings (possible danger) that we might want to look at finding a way to remove. Other park updates or reports: None. Other Business:  Each park will be looked at by the parks committee and a basic review will be done to see if there is any additions/subtractions that could be done. We will look at Carolyn King and Datis Park at the next meeting.  If benches are donated in the future, they will have options of where the bench can be placed so we do not end up with a bunch of benches in the same place. The next meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was adjourned at 6:51 p.m. 1
