Special Meeting - Pavilion Projects Meeting

Attendees: John Salzwedel, Beth Altschwager, Carolyn Fredericks, Eric Lucasavitz,
Retta Kurth, Jan Ulrich, Ruth Hermanson
Guest: Paul Pyfferoen
1. Call meeting to order: John Salzwedel
2. Properly posted meeting: Check
3. Approve agenda: Motion: Altschwager; Second: Kurth; Motion carried.
4. Citizen comments on agenda items: None
5. Approve minutes from the September 18, 2019 Pavilion Planning meeting:
Motion: Lukasavitz; Second, Salzwedel; Motion carried.
6. Windows:
A. SHPO form completed: Completed & sent to State. Not yet processed.
B. Merle Guenther Foundation contacted: Fredericks reported that the
donation form was sent, signed, and returned. Following Mayor Thom’s
signature and Council approval, 40% down payment will be forthcoming.
C. Schedule for Community Building & Restoration: Salzwedel will meet with
representative and agree to begin as soon as possible.
D. Plan to bring information before COW: Salzwedel & Fredericks will attempt
to gather 1) the certificate of appropriateness, 2) the donation form; 3) the
proposal; and 4) the SHPO form; to present to the COW for the 11/15/19
meeting.
7. Exterior painting:
A. Opportunity for this season: It was agreed to wait until 2020.
B. Roberts Painting Contract; down payment request: Lukasavitz made a
motion to lock in the contract with a down payment of $9,950. Hermanson
seconded it. Motion carried. Fredericks will gather information (as stated
above) for presentation to the COW for the 11/15/19 meeting.
8. First floor entryway design – Paul Pyfferoen Pyfferoen presented
modified blueprints for discussion. Hermanson & Fredericks will work with
Pyfferoen on final details. Lukasavitz made a motion to 1) accept the plan (final
details to be included); and 2) pay invoice for down-payment for professional
service of $357. Hermanson seconded it. Motion carried. Fredericks will prepare
the certificate of appropriateness, and AHPO submission.

11. Next meeting date: Set for November 21, 5 pm at the Pavilion.
12. Adjourn: Motion: Altschwager; Second: Lukasavitz; Motion carried. Meeting
adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
