1. Call meeting to order: Carolyn Fredericks
2. Properly posted meeting: Check
3. Citizen comments on agenda items: None
4. Approve Agenda: Motion: Kurth; Second: Altschwager; Moton carried.
5. Approve Minutes of May 9, 2019: Spelling correction: “Cailin” Lueders.
Motion: Altschwaer; Second: Salzwedel; Motion carried
6. Treasurer Report-Attached: Motion: Salzwedel; Second: Kurth; Motion carried.
7. Old Business:
A. Summer Concert Series – 2020:
1) Contract for Thursday, July 23, 2020 from Local Vocals: Hermanson
moved to approve the contract for $500. Salzwedel seconded it. Motion carried.
B. Pavilion projects/planning meeting – October 23, 2019 – 5:00 p.m. at the
Pavilion: Noted
C. Alice’s plaque: Following discussion, Ulrich made a motion to allow Fredericks
to work with the Mick Fischer Trophy and Engraving Shop to finalize the end
product. Salzwedel seconded it. Motion carried.
D. 2020 calendar: Ulrich received the proof. After final review the calendar will go
to the printer.
E. Rest Haven frieze painting – picture & article for 2020 calendar proceeds:
Hermanson will provide a photo to Ulrich to include in an article to include the
Frieze-painting project, former accomplishments, and future projects.
F. CHLPC City budget: An updated accounting was distributed. Altschwager will
follow-up with the requisitioned $1500. Maintenance fund (Water Tower Fund).
8, New Business:
A. Bills: Salzwedel made a motion to pay Mark Crary for the $200 exploratory bill
out of the Pavilion projects fund #250968. Altschwager seconded it. Motion
carried.
B. CHLPC – Certificate of Appropriateness – Pavilion window restoration
project: Form submitted to VanderSanden with proposal from Community
Building & Restoration and approved.
Salzwedel made a motion to approve the COA. Hermanson seconded it.
Motion carried.
1) SHPO form sent to State Historical Society for approval: Done.
2) Email and donation form sent to Angie Sheskey/Merle Guenther
Foundation: A check to Community Building & Restoration for down
Payment forthcoming.
C. Historical Society joint fundraiser: Agreed to consider a future event.
9. Council Liaison Report: .Commented on the departure of Patrick VanderSanden as
City Administrator October 18, 2019.
10. Adjourn: Salzwedel made a motion to adjourn, Altschwager seconded it. Motion
carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:15 pm.
