Call To Order/Roll Call 4:00 PM A regular meeting of the Citizens Public Safety Advisory Board was called to order by Chair Bierwiler on May 23, 2024, at 4:03 PM. Present 5 - Board Member David Bierweiler, Board Member Tim Stewart, Board Member Tracee Perkins, Board Member Roxanne Nice, and Board Member Scott Hefty 2. Approval of Minutes This was approved 3. Introduction - Commander Damian Thompson - Commander Damian "DJ" Thompson shared a brief overview of his career in law enforcement and what his current role with the Commerce CIty Police Department is. 4. Upcoming Community Events - The 2024 Event Calendar was shared with the Board to determine the events they would be interested in participating in throughout the year. - Board member Perkins will be participating in the Memorial Day events and handing out CPSAB Swag while engaging with the community. - Chief Guadnola informed the Board of the first Churros with the Chief event scheduled for Thursday, May 30th at the El Lechon food truck. New Business/ Department Updates The following Department updates were shared: - Naming Jeff Nicks as the CALEA Manager effective June 24, 2024 - Deputy Chief assessment process will occur at the end of July 2024 - New shared office space at the Small Business Resource Center (SBRC) located at 7270 Monaco St. - The attendance/ viewing success rate of CCPD first Facebook Live Commanders Meeting - PowerEngage status since going live on May 20th - Flock System update and CCPD plan to communicate the benefits of the system - An overview of the first Cops for Inclusion event - Crime updates - CCPD involvement with the Denver Metro Street Racing Task Force - Recent vandalism at Pioneer Park - 2025 Department Budget requests 6.
