1. Call to Order/Roll Call
A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Commerce City was called to order
by Mayor Huseman on June 27, 2022, at 7:06 PM.
A motion was made by Council Member Madera, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem
Allen-Thomas, to excuse members not present. VOTE: 7 - Aye, 2 - Excused (Grimes,
Hurst)
2. Resolutions
Res 2022-56 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COMMERCE CITY, COLORADO, AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING AN
INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE URBAN RENEWAL
AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE CITY FOR THE SAND
CREEK BUSINESS AREA
A motion was made by Council Member Oscar Madera, seconded by Mayor Pro
Tem Jennifer Allen-Thomas, that this resolution be adopted. VOTE:

AND THE AUTHORIZATION OF THE EXPENDITURES THEREOF.

22-116 Consideration of a motion to make Juneteenth a paid holiday for City
staff.
A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Jennifer Allen-Thomas, seconded by
Mayor Benjamin Huseman, to amend the City employee policy handbook to
include Juneteenth as a paid City holiday and cancel City Council meetings
that fall on the holiday. VOTE:
Aye: 7- Mayor Huseman, Mayor Pro Tem Allen-Thomas, Council Member Madera,
Council Member Davis, Council Member Noble, Council Member Ford and
Council Member Douglas

5. Executive Session
22-96 An executive session pursuant to C.R.S. 24-6-402(4)(e) for the purpose
of determining position relative to a matter that may be subject to
negotiations concerning incentives for a potential economic development
projects within the city.
A motion was made by Council Member Noble, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem
Allen-Thomas, to enter into an executive session pursuant to C.R.S. 24-6-402(4)
