Call To Order/Roll Call Guest: Tillie Villareal Present 9 - Board Member Abraham Ramirez, Board Member Angela Ramirez, Board Member Debra Bullock, Board Member Ed Hanson, Board Member Gary Kidd, Board Member Joel Georgia, Council Regular Jose Guardiola, Board Member Kristi Douglas, and Board Member Lucy Molina Excused 2 - Board Member Jacob Wilson, and Board Member Kristin Henning 2. Regular Business Financial update: motion to increase the Adams 14 art district sponsorship budget to $500.00 by Douglas seconded by Ramirez motion was approved. New members or applications: a new member will be joining the board after being appointed on April 15. Complete outside hours document: members completed. Discuss commitment to the Cultural Council: Bullock, Hanson, Henning met and came up with a job description that individuals should see before joining the board. Bullock will make edits based on feedback and finalize. Electronic board packets: boards and commissions will no longer receive copies of agenda materials. 3. Approval of Minutes This was approved Minutes 3/12/2019 Attachments: Minutes 2. Committee Reports and Discussion Rotating art exhibit update: staff liaison recommended meeting with a group of people to create a timeline Public Art/Other Rotating Art Exhibiti: Ramirez's, Bullock and staff will meet to go over dates and deadlines. Commerce City Page 1 Cultural Council Meeting Minutes April 9, 2019 Art wrap update: pictures for the two locations where an art wrap will be placed have been chosen by the Leadership Commerce City class. Hanson motioned to accept the recommendation. Douglas seconded. Motion was approved. Fronterra Park committee update: next meeting will be April 22. Music in the Park Food trucks: city will help with a call for food trucks. Flyer was distributed to members. New Banners will be revisited pending funding. Fans: Georgia will help find affordable options. Fundraising/Grants QCF grant was received in the amount of $4,000 for the Music in the Park series. New Donors: Hanson compiled a list of businesses for potential Music in the Park sponsorships. Sponsorship Letter: members helped prepare and distriubute letters for Music in the Park sponsorship asks. Henning will distribute a script for members to use when following up with businesses. Sponsorship Deadline: Bullock recommended a deadline in order to include logos in promotional materials. SCFD interview April 25 @ 7:40 p.m. Bullock extended out an invitation to the rest of the membership. Commerce City Eats Commitee Update: none Marketing Materials: members discussed needed supplies. Social Media Georgia presented to the members a 2020 calendar template. Bullock suggested that we start scheduling out social media posts and use our platforms to promote our public art. Upcoming events Memorial Day Parade: staff will help the board sign up for the event. Members would like to do same theme as last year with individuals walking and using a car to have the Cultural Council banner displayed on. Hanson, Henning, Kidd, and Georgia will participate in the parade. Neighborhood Outreaches: June 13 at Fronterra Park and August 8 at Pioneer Park. Ramirez volunteered to do a cut-out board to increase public interaction. Bullock motioned to move forward with idea. Douglas seconded. Motion was approved. Adams 14 District Student Art Show, April 30. 5. New Business - Miscellaneous Items and Open Discussion No updates or discussion. 6. Member Comments/Announcements Councilman Guardiola shared to the group that there is talks about doing Derby Days. The non-profit community group Adelante is hosting initial meeting.
