1. Call To Order/Roll Call
Present 7 - Board Member Abraham Ramirez, Board Member Angela Ramirez, Board
Member Debra Bullock, Board Member Ed Hanson, Council Regular Jose
Guardiola, Board Member Kristin Henning, and Board Member Samantha
Hunt-Duran
Excused 2 - Board Member Jacob Wilson, and Board Member Kristi Douglas
Absent 1 - Board Member Lucy Molina
2. Welcome/Guest and New Member Introductions
Councilman Craig Hurst was introduced as the newly appointed Council member to the
Cultural Council.
3. Approval of Minutes
Henning moved to approve May 14, 2019 meeting minutes. Ramirez seconded. Motion
was approved unanimously.

Members reviewed May financials. No action taken.

• Cultural Council Job Description-Approval by boards & commissions committee
Council boards and commission committee approved on Monday, June 10.
• Resignation Cathy Teter, Gary Kidd
Staff will provide hard copies of applications to recruit new members during the
upcoming Neighborhood Outreach event.

5. Committee Reports and Discussion
• Public Art/Others
Public Art Inventory update: No discussion
Rotating Art Exhibit Selection of pictures: Bullock shared some historical photos from
the Commerce City Historical Society. Henning will help edit selected photos; staff will
help print; members will help frame.
Public Art Committee Fronterra update: next meeting will be June 25.
• Music in the Park
Food Trucks update: staff received 3 total applications for the upcoming concerts.
Members talked about potentially having one more. Ramirez will assist with having one
more option.
New banners: staff advocated to use the current materials for another year with the
help of Ramirez to make repairs with the current banners. Members agreed to look
into new banners for future years. Membes will be assisting with placement of lawn
signs the week prior to concerts and placement of large signs.
• Fundraising/Grants
SCFD meeting-June 27th 5:30 at the Adams County Government Center
Commerce City Eats September 22-30. Councilman Guardiola gave a report back and
presented members with different logo options.
• Marketing Materials: Cultural Council Brochure, Public art brochure, Event brochure
No discussion
• Social Media
Board member Hunt will now co-manage social media with staff liaison due to
Georgia's resignation. Members expressed interest in creating an Instagram account.
Hunt will help with the creation of an instagram page.
• Upcoming Events
Cultural Council Booth presentation for 2019-June13 Neighborhood Outreach
6. New Business - Miscellaneous Items and Open Discussion
• Letter to City Council
Bullock shared a letter to City Council for the request of a full time staff person to
assist Cultural Council in several of their duties. Staff liaison passed along the letter to
her supervisor and is waiting for direction.
• New possible events: Ed will lead a planning committee
