Call To Order/Roll Call Meeting was called to order at 6:04 p.m. Present: Ronna Sanchez, Councilman Jose Guardiola, Councilman Craig Hurst, Jacqueline Riggs-Gonzales, Abe Ramirez, Angela Ramirez, Samantha Hunt-Duran, Sandra Escobar, Johni Grabinski Absent: Lucy Molina 2. Approval of Minutes Minutes 09/08/2020 Attachments: Minutes Motion to approve minutes by Hunt. Motion seconded by Sanchez. Motion to approve minutes unanimously approved. 3. Committee Reports and Discussion o PUBLIC ART/ART SHOWS Only one submission has been received for the virtual art exhibition. Staff walked through the application process and where to access the call for artwork both in English and Spanish. Member Ramirez asked to change some language within the application process to ensure applicants aren't confused as to where to go to apply. Staff has agreed to make those changes. For the time being, staff will fill exhibition with city artwork. Hopefully, more submissions are received for next month's meeting to review. o SOCIAL MEDIA Page likes and page views continue to go up. Members are inviting their personal contacts to like the page. Member Hunt will continue to promote the art exhibition call and will also resume "Meet the members Mondays." 4. New Business o Retreat, October 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Agenda will include; review subcommittees, member expectations, calendar of events, and by-laws. o SCFD Grant Update The Cultural Council received the following funding for 2021: Commerce City Page 1 Cultural Council Meeting Minutes October 13, 2020 General Operating Support: $5,765.80 Summer Series with Cultural Council: $2,200.00 Art on Display: $1,365.00 o City Grant Report Staff wanted to confirm that members submitted the required report. Member Sanchez confirmed that she sent it in electronically. o Comprehensive Plan The city is looking to fill vacancies on the new Comprehensive Plan Citizen Advisory Committee.Members of this committee will help to update the city’s existing comprehensive plan and meet at key times throughout the planning process to discuss issues, overall policy direction, and provide important feedback to city staff, the planning commission, and city council for consideration. The comprehensive plan is a long-term planning document that looks at the city’s growth, land use, infrastructure, transportation, parks and open space, economic development, housing, public services, and much more. The plan sets forth the community's vision, goals, and policies to help guide development and investment decisions. To apply, visit c3gov.com/boards.
