Call To Order/Roll Call Meeting was called to order at 9:30 a.m. Present: Abraham Ramirez, Angela Ramirez, Ronna Sanchez, Councilman Jose Guardiola, Jacqueline Riggs-Gonzales, Jennifer Martin, Maria Arce Absent: Councilman Craig Hurst, Kelly Reyos, Johni Grabinski, Linda Barr 2. Cultural Council Trivia 3. Cultural Council Bylaws - Board member Sanchez suggested to vote to accept changes and change text from red to black. After discussion, members agreed in support of the broad nature of the council’s mission. Considerations: We are a volunteer committee, mediations should be held before removal, professionalism is expected, committing to fair consideration and accountability, sustaining spirit of reducing no-call/no-show while understanding that short-notices may happen, Decision: wording in by-laws adjusted to “…the board will determine next steps, which may include removal…” Member Sanchez motioned to approve; Arce seconded the motion; approved unanimously. 4. Elections for board officers All board officer positions are open. -President Vote: 3 votes for Abe Ramirez and 3 votes for Martin. Martin concedes and Abe Ramirez stands as President for the next cycle. Abe Ramirez motions to accept; Member Martin seconded the motion; passed unanimously. -Vice President: Martin Nominated; unanimously approved. -Treasurer: Riggs-Gonzales nominated; Abe Ramirez motions to accept; unanimously approved. -Secretary: Arce nominated; Member Sanchez motions to accept; Riggs-Gonzales seconded the motion; unanimously approved. 5. Calendar of Events and Event Committees Commerce City Page 1 Cultural Council Meeting Minutes October 23, 2021 CCCC from beginning to end • Music in the Park (MitP) Committee: Jacqueline Riggs-Gonzales, Angela Ramirez, Abe Ramirez • Student Art Show (SAS)- Spring and Fall Committee: Councilman Jose Guardiola, Jen Martin, Angela Ramirez • Community Art Show (CAS) Committee: Jen Martin, Angela Ramirez, Lupita Arce • Commerce City Eats (CCE) Committee: Abe Ramirez, Ronna Sanchez, Councilman Jose Guardiola, Jacqueline Riggs-Gonzales *Absent council members should choose committees according to interest/availability Outreach- Collaborate (planning and volunteering for a portion of the event) and/or attend to promote our events • Memorial Day Parade • Derby Days • Open mic • Fall Fest- Parks & Recreation • Neighborhood Outreach Events- Parks & Recreation may want to build/expand through Music in the Park • 5280 Theater- Student based, do shows throughout the metro area... 6. Grants Shout out to Ronna Sanchez for her great work on applying for grants! Future Grant opportunities: • Quality Community Foundation • Scientific and Cultural Facilities District Member Sanchez needs information for: • Committee’s needs? Inclusivity for all events/committees • Budgeting info- How much? • Ensuring alignment between funder’s purpose and actual use for reporting/accountability. Up next: • Equipment for MitP • Adams County arts funding? • Demographic updates 7. 2022 Budget Goal: Establish categories and track expenses across year to support annual budget setting. Track revenue and expenses by program to support grant funding and reporting. Member Martin motions to reimburse members Angela and Abraham Ramirez for their expenses. Member Sanchez seconded the motion. Unanimously approved. New Bank Member Sanchez motioned to move and transfer money to Community Choice Bank. Member Martine seconded the motion.
