Call To Order/Roll Call Meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m. Present: Rene Bullock, Morgan Smith, Councilwoman Nicole Frank, Councilman Jose Guardiola, Keegan Jones, Mike Kelley, Ingrid Barnett Absent: LaCrea Dixon, Kyra Ann Dixon, Isabela Velasco-Zubia, Kenia Prieto, Megan Pham, Aliyah Acevedo 2. Challenge Question/Icebreaker Challenge Question: What role do you see Youth Commission in City Council? IceBreaker: Is cereal soup? 3. Approval of Minutes Commissioner Bullock motioned to approve only meeting minutes from September 2 and October 7. Councilwoman Frank seconded. Meeting minutes from September 2 and October 7 were unanimously approved. New Business o Elections (will happen 11/4)  Chair With the support of staff, the Chair in general supervises and controls the business and affairs of the commission. The Chair shall preside at all meetings and may be Commerce City Page 1 Youth Commission Meeting Minutes October 21, 2021 prescribed by the commission other duties from time to time.  Vice Chair In the absence of the Chair or in event of the Chair’s inability or refusal to act, the Vice Chair shall perform the duties of the Chair. Any Vice Chair shall perform such other duties as, from time to time, may be assigned to him or her by the Chair or by the commission  Secretary With the support of staff, takes minutes during meetings and helps to prepare and distribute meeting minutes. o Goals and expectations for the commission Commissioners reviewed and discussed the list of goals and expectations from the last meeting. Additional goals and expectations were discussed. -Being a voice for youth in Commerce City and helping community understand the youth perspective. -Developing leadership skills through youth commission programming and workshops. o Calendar of events will be tabled for next meeting. Staff will send out draft template. o YC Recruitment Video Staff has asked of the commission to all participate in a youth commission recruitment video by send a short clip describing what they like about the commission or why they joined it. The video will be put together by the city's videographer for social media outreach. 5. Other Business None 6.
