Present 4 - Chair Anita Mercado, Alternate Board Member Esther Hall, Council Regular Rick A. Teter, and Vice Chair Ted Ertl Approval of Minutes: Min 19-48 May 15 2018 Attachments: Minutes Board member Hall made a motion to approve the May 15, 2018 meeting minutes. Vice Chair Ertl seconded the motion. Yes: 3 - Mercado, Ertl, Hall Abstained: 1 - Teter Motion passed. Case(s): Pres 19-222 DRB-073-19: Trent Younger (Younger Bros. Lumber) is requesting the following at 6350 E 72nd Place, Commerce City, CO 80022 A. Approval to replace 1 exterior door. B. Approval of $851.75 in Catalyst Funds. Attachments: Staff Report Proposed Door City Planner, Brayan Marin, reviewed the staff report and presentation. Staff is recommending approval of the proposed door replacement and catalyst fund request as the proposal meets the design principles of the Derby Design Guidelines and the requirements of the Land Development Code. The applicant, Trent Younger, was present to answer questions. Mr Younger explained how the current door is very outdated and the new door will be a nicely upated outward swinging door. The board discussed the need for a new door, the door's self closing mechanism, and handicapped accessibility. In response to a question by the board, Planner Marin stated there is no city code requiring handicapped accessible doors. Request 1: Board member Hall made the following Recommended Motion: “Based upon the finding that the application meets the design principles of the Derby Design Guidelines, I move that the Derby Review Board grant approval in case DRB-073-19, a Derby Redevelopment application for the property located at 6350 East 72nd Place.” Vice Chair Ertl seconded the motion. Yes: 4 - Mercado, Ertl, Hall, Teter Motion passed Request 2: Vice Chair Ertl made the following Recommended Catalyst Fund Motion: “I move that the Derby Review Board approve the use of catalyst funds in an amount not to exceed $851.75 to reimburse the applicant for costs the City determines qualify under the program.” Yes: 4 - Mercado, Ertl, Hall, Teter Motion passed Board Business: The board asked staff about upcoming projects in Derby and inquired on the status of the Derby Review Board open vacancies. Staff Business: Executive Administrative Supervisor, Tricia Mason, introduced new staff and distributed 2K coins and gifts from 2018 Appreciate Night.
