1. Call To Order/Roll Call
Meeting called to order by Chair Spreutels-Martinez at 6:04 pm
Members in Attendance: Anmol Singh; Bianca Gonzalez; Iona LongSoldier; Keena
Day (arrived late); Kelly LaRue; Michelle Spreutels-Martinez; Mo Albert; Phazaria
Koonce; and Vanina Capitane
Members Absent: Nicole Corder; Mayor Pro-Tem Jennifer Allen-Thomas;
Councilmember Oscar Madera.
Others in Attendance: Jennie Loveridge; Tonia Lopez of Adams 14 School Districts;
Staff Liaison Trenten Robinson
2. Approval of Minutes
Singh motioned to approve Minutes as amended to include Mayor Pro-Tem
Allen-Thomas' name to Roll Call; Gonzalez-De La Rosa seconded. VOTE - 8 Aye, 0
Nay.
Minutes from the March 30th, 2022 DEI Commission Meeting

3. Proclamations
- Commission discussed May Proclamations of Asian American and Pacific Islander
Heritage Month and Mental Health Awareness Month.
- Commission discussed and assigned June Proclamations of Pride Month (prepared
by Gonzalez-De La Rosa) and Juneteenth (prepared by Koonce).
4. Old Business
- Commission decided to participate only via a table at the end of the parade.
- Commission voted to put names of all Commission Members on Informational Flyers;
Leadership will review draft of flyers at May Leadership Meeting.
- Commission discussed Pride Fest Participation (Gonzalez-De La Rose and
LongSoldier volunteered to attend; LaRue tentatively volunteered). Commissioner
requested candy and commission "swag" for events and voted unanimously to request.

5. New Business
- Commission recapped the Proclamation reading by Vice Chair Corder in April.
- Chair Spreutels-Martinez and Member LongSolider recapped ECPAC Racial Justice
Training.
- Commission discussed inclusive language on City documents.
- Tonia Lopez of Adams 14 School District presented on their Linguistically Talented
Students resolution.
6. Other Business
- Discussion of In-Person Meetings continued to May due to absence of members.
7. Adjourn
Meeting adjourned by Chair Spreutels-Martinez at 7:45 pm.
