Call To Order A meeting of the Youth Commission of the City of Commerce City was called to order by Chair Smith at 6:37 p.m. Present 8 - Commissioner Desiree Kennison, Commissioner Isabela Velasco-Zubia, Commissioner Kenia Prieto, Commissioner Megan Pham, Commissioner Morgan Smith, Commissioner Michael Kelley, Commissioner René Bullock, and Council Member Kristi Douglas Absent 3 - Commissioner Aliyah Acevedo, Commissioner Keegan Jones, and Commissioner Ingrid Barnett 2. Approval of Minutes Min 22-115 Minutes of the April 21, 2022 Meeting No action was taken. 3. New Business New Community Relations Liaison The new Community Relations Liaison, Jenny Penoncello, introduced herself to the Youth Commission. Memorial Day Parade Chair Smith led a discussion on the Memorial Day Parade. It was determined the Commissioners would bring float ideas to the next meeting. Summer Retreat Commissioners discussed hosting a Summer Retreat. It was determined that a retreat would be held in the late summer before school begins, and staff would help to schedule a date. Summer Events/Recruitments Commissioners brainstormed summer events and recruitment opportunities. Adams 14 Scholarship Commissioner Prieto was recognized for receiving the Adams 14 Scholarship. Other Business Earth Day Clean-up Follow Up The Commissioners discussed the Earth Day Clean-up and additional opportunities to volunteer. 5.
