Register to attend at https://c3gov.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_EU2UBQ87TCmTR vrDLLtx4g. 1. Call To Order/Roll Call Chair Spreutels-Martinez called the meeting to order at 5:35 pm. Members in Attendance - Anmol Singh Bianca Gonzalez Derene Armelin-absent Iona Long Soldier Keena Day-late Kelly LaRue Michelle Spreutels Martinez Mo Albert Nicole Corder Phazaria Koonce Vanina Capitane Members Absent - None Staff Present - Trenten Robinson, Staff Liaison 2. Diversity Icebreaker Group participated in diversity ice-breaker. 3. Open Forum Mayor Pro-Tem Allen-Thomas discussed potential DEIA Training. Chair Spreutels-Martinez to follow-up with trainer and bring to September Meeting. Liaison Robinson discussed a potential Robert's Rules of Order Training. To be added to September or October Agenda. Liaison Robinson invited Commissioners to Employee DEI Meeting on September 22nd at 2 pm. Chair Spreutels-Martinez, Commissioner Capitane, and Mayor Pro-Tem Allen-Thomas volunteered to attend. (Chair and Commissioner Koonce attended meeting on September 22, 2022, to report out in September.) Commerce City Page 1 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Meeting Minutes August 31, 2022 Commission 4. Music in the Park Report Out Commissioners who attended Music in the Park events reported out. 5. Proclamations September Proclamations - Hispanic Heritage Month proclamation already approved. - Suicide Prevention Month to run on September 19th, 2022. - Equal Pay Day is not to be run as Women's Equality Day proclamation discussed same topic. October Proclamations - National Coming Out Day and LGBTQ+ History Month not to run as June is Pride Month. - Mayor Pro-Tem Allen-Thomas to write and read Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention Month. November Proclamations - Indigenous People's Month proclamation to be prepared and read by Commissioner LongSoldier on November 7th, 2022 6. DEI Retreat Commissioner discussed retreat and consensus agreed on a Saturday morning in October as the timing for the retreat. Retreat to discuss strategic planning, short- and long-term goals. Liaison Robinson to secure Bison Grill and food; Chair Spreutels-Martinez to reach out to facilitator. Group tentatively agreed on either October 8th or 22nd, 2022. 7. Attendance Policy Update Attendance Policy - Bylaws Amendment Attachments: Attendance Policy Update Group discussed attendance policy. Chair Spreutels-Martinez motioned to direct staff to investigate attendance policy rules, Commissioner Capitane seconded. VOTE - 9 Aye, 1 Nay, 1 Abstain 8.
