Register in advance: https://c3gov.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_SUVNmF-oRYeRd D5udJP_-A. 1. Call To Order/Roll Call - 5:30pm Meeting called to order at 5:32pm. Attendees: Bianca Gonzalez-De la Rosa, Iona Longsolder, Marisol Shaw, Scott Vanheusen, Ana La Scoezec, Cynthia Montez, America Carbajal, and Councilmember Renee Chacon. Absent: Vanina Capitaine, Marco Vega, and Councilmember Craig Kim. 2. Land Acknowledgement & Rules of the Road Iona Longsoldier provided a land acknowledgement and staff read the group agreements. 3. Public Comment None 4. Educational Component Marisol Shaw presented the drafted annual presentation for City Council set for June 17th. 5. Ice Breaker Group discussed the origin of their names. 6. Approval of Minutes Min 24-087 Minutes of the April 24, 2024 Meeting Iona motioned to approve the April meeting minutes. Scott seconded the motion, which was approved unanimously. 7. Juneteenth Celebration Update Commerce City Page 1 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Meeting Minutes - Final May 29, 2024 Commission A. Volunteers Scott, Iona, and Councilmember Chacon will attend the event. Councilmember Chacon also offered that Groundworks Denver is a great place to reach out to for youth volunteers. 8. Retreat Continued (with calendar review) A. Finalize Goals Finalized short term goals. Will continue to discuss long term goals in June. B. Finalize Budget Will discuss in June. 9. Upcoming Current Events A. PRIDE Table Iona and Bianca will attend in the morning. Scott and Sol will attend in the afternoon. Iona motioned to approve up to $250 to be spent to purchase rainbow paper fans for the event to hand out. Scott seconded the motion, which approved unanimously. B. Hispanic Heritage Group will let staff know if they are interested in serving on the planning committee for this event. C. Proclamations Sol will give proclamation at City Council June 3rd for the LGBTQA+ proclamation. They would like to ask someone else to read the proclamation for Juneteenth on June 17th. Group discussed keeping proclamations as an ongoing agenda item. 10. June Agenda Setting In June they will discuss long term goals and budget, possibly having a mini retreat, proclamations, and they will remove the educational component from the June meeting. 11.
