Call To Order/Roll Call Meeting called to order at 6:00 pm. Attendees: Aaron Franek, Bruce Emery, Ray Cordova, Justin Maillet, Jadie Carson, Dana Bond Absent: Brent Loomis, Andrew Lacrue, Steve Douglas Staff Members Present: Carolyn Keith, Paul Hebinck, Mike Brown, Karen O'Donnell, and Candice Turnage 2. Welcome and Introductions First official committee meeting since the Parks, Recreation and Golf Advisory Committee became appointed by City Council. Members and staff introduced themselves. Current vacancies: 1 adult, 3 youth 3. Presentations Pres 16-493 Creating Community - PRG Overview Parks Recreation and Golf Director Carolyn Keith gave an overview of the PRG Advisory Committee purpose and mission. 4. New Business Pres 16-494 PRG Committee Charter and Resolution The charter and resolution were read. This committee meets every other month, 3rd Tuesday or as needed. The committee will be invited to ground breaking and grand openings. Commerce City Page 1 Parks, Recreation, and Golf Meeting Minutes - Final June 21, 2016 Advisory Committee Pres 16-495 Election of PRG Committee Co-Chairs Co-chair will lead the meeting and get feedback about what should be on the agenda. PRG Advisory Committee will provide updates to City Council on occasion. Co-chair will help present or make the recommendation. One committee member suggested waiting for all members to be present to elect the co-chairs. This item to be on the next agenda. 5. Updates Golf Manager Paul Hebinck gave an overview of Buffalo Run Golf Course. Highlights included: 20-year anniversary of the golf course, maintenance, operations, 2016 restaurant and clubhouse remodel, special events to date, phase I irrigation system replacement, tournaments, Men's Club, Golf Divas, number of rounds played in 2015. Pres 16-497 Ongoing 2K Updates Presentations by Parks Planning and Operations Manager Mike Brown and Director Keith were made to the committee. Highlights included: planning, development, Fronterra Park design complete, two new parks under construction, overall summary of parks trails and open space ongoing operations. The committee was also provided data on the number of park rentals and ball tournaments. Staff was pleased to announce that the city has been designated as Playful City USA for eight consecutive years. The committee was provided with a review of the 2015 PRG CIP projects, 2K projects, strategic planning and summer events. Pres 16-496 Public Art Update Recreation Manager Karen O'Donnell gave an overview of the recreation division. Accomplishments for 2015 included: recreation center enhancements, neighborhood outreaches, and public art projects. 6. Upcoming Meeting Topics Pres 16-498 PRG Advisory Committee 2016 Meeting Schedule A proposed schedule of meeting the third Tuesday every other month was discussed. A joint meeting with CIPCAC will be held on July 13th to discuss the final schematic of the new recreation center. Time to be determined. Other Business Upcoming city tour dates to be determined. The tours are anticipated to take at least two hours. Director Keith will look at scheduling dates. 8.
