Call To Order/Roll Call Meeting called to order at 6:04 p.m. Present: Dana Bond, Bruce Emery, Aaron Franek, Brent Loomis, Justin Maillet, Jacob Wilson Absent: Brendan Binns, Jadie Carson, Steve Douglas, Bret Walker Staff Present: Carolyn Keith, Karen O'Donnell, Mike Brown, Amy Hendricks Guest: Ray Woodruff, Mile High Disc Golf Club Let the record show Member Bond joined the meeting at 6:05 p.m. 2. Approval of Minutes (August and September Meetings) A motion was made by Member Loomis, seconded by Member Wilson to approve the August 15 minutes as submitted. VOTE: Unanimous The motion passed. A motion was made by Member Emery, seconded by Member Wilson to approve the September 19 minutes as submitted. VOTE: Unanimous The motion passed. 3. Unfinished Business 17-79 2017 Meetings November 14 (Why Advocacy Matters) Director Carolyn Keith will bring information regarding the reauthorization of the lottery, which is an upcoming topic for the State Legislature. New Business Commerce City Page 1 Parks, Recreation, and Golf Meeting Minutes - Final October 17, 2017 Advisory Committee 17-80 Disc Golf Presentation (Mile High Disc Golf Club) Ray Woodruff, with the Mile High Disc Golf Club gave an overview of disc golf, equipment and types of courses. Most courses are located in local parks with generally no charge to use unless there are tournaments. The “pay to play” model is relatively new to Colorado. discussed and closed 17-81 2018 Topics, Fundraising, and Meeting Schedule (No Meetings in Apr/May) The 2018 meeting schedule will be reviewed at the November meeting. There was discussion of returning to meeting every other month, or to a set schedule based upon the opening of the Bison Ridge Recreation Center and re-opening of the Eagle Point Recreation Center. Members were asked to bring suggestions for 2018 meeting topics to the November meeting. An email reminder will be sent before the next meeting. Director Keith indicated that the Service Sustainability Model will be reviewed in 2018. discussed and closed 5. Committee Member Reports & Information Members shared general information and updates. Recreation Manager O’Donnell distributed the Project Present flier and discussed donation opportunities. Member Loomis will contact committee members regarding interest in making a donation. Director Keith reported on volunteer opportunities for various committees, boards, and commissions that are seeking members. Applications are available at www.c3gov.com. Director Keith advised that fundraising activities sponsored by the Quality Community Foundation benefit the youth in Commerce City through scholarships. 6.
