Call To Order/Roll Call/Pledge of Allegiance - 6:00 PM Meeting was called to order at 6:01 pm by Co-Chair Walker. Members Present: Clark Berggren, Mary Hogan Chan, DeLilah Collins, Jose Guardiola, Josh Houde, Justin Maillet, Shawn McDowell, Bret Walker, Paul Welander Absent: Alejandro Garcia, Craig Hurst, Kendall Ryerson, Adam Venanzi PRG Staff present: Carolyn Keith, Lisa Nordholt, Maria Jepson Guest: Carlene Cox with ENT 2. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Member Collins seconded by Member Welander to approve the May 18, 2021 minutes as submitted. VOTE: Unanimous. The motion passed. 3. New Business 21-93 2021 Special Events and Future Events - Carolyn Attachments: Special Event Presentation Director Keith reviewed the PRG community events planned for 2021 and the addition of future events. Members shared feedback about the possibility of obtaining current vaccination data related for the return to hosting indoor events. The City is not able to provide that information however there may be statistics available from Adams County/Tri-County Health Department. Discussed possible sponsorship and partnership opportunities for local businesses with regard to a few of the community events. There will be local sponsorship opportunities for the upcoming Curt Holland Memorial Golf Tournament. The Neighborhood Outreach pop up events this year are for entertainment only due to COVID-19. There will be no City or non-profit/provider tents this year but there will be informational materials handed out. Member Collins mentioned the possibility of doing surveys or polls asking for input Commerce City Page 1 Parks, Recreation, and Golf Meeting Minutes - Final June 15, 2021 Advisory Committee about future events. Member Welander suggested an organized clean up litter event in different areas of the City. 21-94 PRG Agenda Items - Future items for 2021 - Carolyn Director Keith asked members what they would like to see included on future agendas. Currently we are waiting for direction from the City Manager’s Office on the update about returning to in person meetings based on Council input. City Council is preparing for hybrid meetings starting in August. As we get closer to the end of 2021 we will have more of a timeline for working on the PRG Master Plan. 21-95 July Meeting - Social at Buffalo Run Golf Course - Carolyn There was discussion of cancelling the July meeting and instead holding an in person social at Buffalo Run in the pavilion. Member Collins motioned to cancel the July meeting and return in August with an in person social or an official meeting. Member Chan seconded the motion. VOTE: Unanimous. The motion passed. 4. Council Member Reports & Information Nothing to report. 5. Committee Member Reports & Information Director Keith shared that at the June 14 City Council meeting, Golf Manager Hebinck presented a proposal outlining the opportunity for a Par 3 golf course in cooperation with Oakwood Development. Council supported moving forward with staff talking to Oakwood about the proposed development. Director Keith indicated that a 9-hole disc golf course is on the five year plan of projects. Co-Chair Maillet announced that this would be his last meeting because he is moving out of Commerce City and he thanked the committee for their support. 6.
