Call To Order/Roll Call/Pledge of Allegiance - 6:00 PM Meeting was called to order at 6:01 pm by Co-Chair Collins. Members Present: DeLilah Collins, Charles Dukes, Bob Grandinetti, Desiree Martinelli, Shawn McDowell, Chris Niyork, Michael Stegman, Rocky Teter, Paul Welander Let the record show Member Stegman experienced difficulties with Zoom and joined once resolved. Absent: Oz Flores, Josh Houde, Katie Southard Staff present: Chad Redin, Paul Hebinck and Maria Jepson 2. Public Comment None 3. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Member Welander seconded by Member Martinelli to approve the January 23, 2024, minutes as submitted. VOTE: Unanimous. The motion passed. Min 24-033 Minutes of the January 23, 2024 Meeting Attachments: Minutes 4. Unfinished Business 24-026 2024 Budget Adoption - Chad Redin Attachments: 2024 PRG Advisory Committee Budget Director Redin reviewed the 2024 budget outline. Staff will send out the 2023 final expenditure numbers next week. These were delayed due to a reporting issue that should be fixed going forward. A motion was made by Member McDowell seconded by Member Martinelli to approve the 2024 PRG Advisory Committee budget as drafted. VOTE: Unanimous. The motion passed. Commerce City Page 1 Parks, Recreation, and Golf Meeting Minutes - Final February 20, 2024 Advisory Committee 24-027 2024 Work Plan Review - Chad Redin Attachments: 2024 PRG Advisory Committee Workplan Director Redin met with the co-chairs to develop the 2024 work plan and shared the final outline of the 2023 activities as well as the 2024 Short Term, and Long-Term SMART Goals for the PRGAC. A motion was made by Member Martinelli seconded by Member Grandinetti to approve the 2024 PRG Advisory Work Plan as outlined. VOTE: Unanimous. The motion passed. The tentative date for the annual City Council update is April 8, 2024. 24-028 Oasis Park Naming - Chad Redin Attachments: Oasis Park Naming Council Policy #CP7-Facility Naming Naming Options In general, a park name is derived from the area it is located in. Oasis is new park in the Buffalo Highlands development. It is about two acres and connects to the Second Creek and Buckley perimeter trails. Suggestions were collected from several public formats and compiled. After reviewing the list, it was determined staff should send these in a survey to PRGAC members to select their top three and those will be reviewed the March 19th meeting. 24-029 PRG Advisory Committee T-shirts - Chad Redin Director Redin provided samples of long sleeve shirt options for consideration. Members indicated a preference for the option with a pocket. Will proceed with getting them ordered and distributed to members once they are available. 5. Community Engagement Updates Member McDowell attended the Murray Farms meeting where traffic concerns, residential density, bike lanes, existing trails and conceptual ideas were shared. Member Collins thanked staff for the prompt attention to the feedback on additional weights being needed for certain areas and requested a few higher weight options be added as well. Member Martinelli has enjoyed going to Eagle Pointe after primarily utilizing Bison Ridge. She is impressed with both the facility and staff and their attention to details and the patrons. 6. Council Member Reports & Information Member Dukes spoke on a recent wayfinding conversation, development of natural connections, signage implementation, urban renewal in the 72nd Station area to include sidewalk and accessibility improvements, current state and strategies of economic development efforts and upcoming meeting topics. Member Teter stressed that all Boards & Commission members need to continue to provide input and feedback – it does make a difference. 7. Committee Member Reports & Information Commerce City Page 2 Parks, Recreation, and Golf Meeting Minutes - Final February 20, 2024 Advisory Committee Member Welander inquired about the possibility of creating a Tree Board or subcommittee similar to what the City of Brighton has. 8. PRG Announcements Distributed to all members via email on February 15, 2024. The Daddy Daughter Dance had over 300 in attendance. Our next brochure is out, and the summer camps sold out within minutes. The QCF Adult Prom will be on April 6th, and they are again soliciting donations for the Silent Auction.
