Council Policy #CP7-Facility Naming
Naming Options
In general, a park name is derived from the area it is located in. Oasis is new park in
the Buffalo Highlands development. It is about two acres and connects to the Second
Creek and Buckley perimeter trails. Suggestions were collected from several public
formats and compiled. After reviewing the list, it was determined staff should send
these in a survey to PRGAC members to select their top three and those will be
reviewed the March 19th meeting.
24-029 PRG Advisory Committee T-shirts - Chad Redin
Director Redin provided samples of long sleeve shirt options for consideration.
Members indicated a preference for the option with a pocket. Will proceed with getting
them ordered and distributed to members once they are available.
5. Community Engagement Updates
Member McDowell attended the Murray Farms meeting where traffic concerns,
residential density, bike lanes, existing trails and conceptual ideas were shared.
Member Collins thanked staff for the prompt attention to the feedback on additional
weights being needed for certain areas and requested a few higher weight options be
added as well. Member Martinelli has enjoyed going to Eagle Pointe after primarily
utilizing Bison Ridge. She is impressed with both the facility and staff and their
attention to details and the patrons.
6. Council Member Reports & Information
Member Dukes spoke on a recent wayfinding conversation, development of natural
connections, signage implementation, urban renewal in the 72nd Station area to
include sidewalk and accessibility improvements, current state and strategies of
economic development efforts and upcoming meeting topics. Member Teter stressed
that all Boards & Commission members need to continue to provide input and
feedback – it does make a difference.
