Call To Order/Roll Call Present: Brendan Binns, Preston Martinez, Valerie Medina, Teri Smith, Daniela Villarreal Absent: Drew Brissman, Sheryl Carstens Guests: Jim Kummerow, Billy Gurr 2. Ice Breaker 3. Approval of Minutes There was not a quorum to approve Minutes. Will approve next meeting (2/21/17) December 20, 2017 4. Financial Report There was not a quorum to approve Minutes. Will approve next meeting (2/21/17) 5. 2017 Grant & Scholarship Cycle Valerie has sent out emails and has reached out to BBCPA. Currently, ads are in connect newsletter, Facebook & Twitter. Teri will look into boosting ads for facebook to reach out to more people. Reviewed scholarship application; did not have a quorum to approve Looked at th calendar for next few months highlighting the following dates: January 24th- Pre-application meeting for grants February 27th- Distribute scholarship applications to schools, rec center, library, etc. March 3rd- Grant in-take process ends March 7th- Applications distributed to QCF board March 21st- QCF board meeting and review and award of grant applications April 7th- Scholarship applications due April 10th- Grant award determination presentation to City Council April 17th- Council Meeting- grant checks distributed April 18th- QCF board meeting and review of scholarship applications 6. Golf Tournament Commerce City Page 1 Quality Community Foundation Meeting Minutes January 17, 2017 Members of the board have agreed to come in 30min. early before each board meeting to discuss the golf tournament. Valerie will chair with support from Daniela. 7. Officer nominations No quorum- will postpone for next meeting (2/21/17) 8. Other Business Retreat january 20th from 10AM to 3PM P&R Scholarship Report from Karen O'Donell and Lisa Nordtholt. There's certain criteria that can help individuals with a 25% discount or 50% discount. Although there's been times that the rec center will fund 100%. Form can be found at the rect center and is advertised through their brochure and at schools. QCF asked for recognition on receipts or program guide and Karen will check. Parks and Rec can help with the marketing of the Beer and Wine fundraiser since all proceeds go towards rec scholarships for youth. Jim will ask HOA's if we can be added to their fall brochure. Report back from Project Present 410 children got presents For next year, parks and rec is trying to collaborate with other organizations but would still love QCF's support. 9.
