1. Call To Order/Roll Call
Meeting called to order at 3:06 p.m.
Present: Myrna Ferguson, Gabriela Adeshewo, Mary K Natho, Tina Ledesma, Tillie
Villareal, Carole Harvell, Carol Taylor-Boyd, Councilwoman Susan Noble,
Councilwoman Jennifer Allen-Thomas, George Maxey, Carlita Plummer
Absent: Jennie Loveridge, Bruce Reilly
2. Approval of Minutes

Motion to approve by commissioner Natho. Seconded by commissioner Villareal.
Motion was passed.
3. New Business
a. Council agenda topics of interest
Councilwomen Noble and Allen-Thomas shared an update on current City Council
agenda items.
b. Senior Commission founding ordinance
Commissioners reviewed Ordinance 2128, establishing a senior commission, as a
reminder of their purpose. Commissioners discussed member roles and terms, roberts
rules of order and priorities for 2021. Members discussed the importance of full-time
position that can ensure information is getting out to the senior community and those
who need it most but also serve as a point of contact for community members that are
in need of services. Commissioner Taylor-Boyd motioned for City Council to take into
consideration the need for this position, a "senior navigator," to ensure those
Commerce City residents that are in most need have the information and resources
needed. Commissioner Plummer seconded. Motion was passed.
4. Other
The city’s CDBG Office is pleased to announce the release of the 2021 CDBG
Interdepartmental Application for grant funding (please see attached). Available at the
end of 2021, the CDBG grant monies may be used to fund city activities for low- to

moderate-income neighborhoods and residents to provide decent housing, a suitable
living environment, and expand economic opportunities. Possible projects include, but
are not limited to neighborhood improvements, transportation, economic development,
senior services, youth services, crime prevention, housing, victim assistance, fitness
promotion, sidewalk construction, and ADA compliance. Expenses the grant may
cover include design and other soft costs, project outreach, tap fees, construction,
salaries, and direct expenses.
CDBG will be attending the February Senior Commission meeting and additional
meetings are available. More information at their website;
