Call To Order/Roll Call Meeting was called to order at 3:02 pm Present: George Maxey, Carli Plummer, Carol Boyd, Tina Ledesma, Tillie Villareal, Councilmember Susan Noble, Carole Harvell, Gabriela Adeshewo Absent: Councilmember Jennifer Allen-Thomas, Mary K Natho, Jennie Loveridge, Bruce Reilly 2. Approval of Minutes Meeting minutes of September 9, 2021 Attachments: 09/09/2021 Motion to approve minutes made by commissioner Boyd. Seconded by commissioner Ledesma. Meeting minutes were approved unanimously. 3. New Business Senior Resource Page Updates were provided on the following: i. Caregivers & Homecare, Carole Harvell ii. Food Services, Fraud, Recreation Activities, Carol Boyd iii. Veterans, Mary K Natho iv. Transportation, Tina Ledesma v. Housing, Carli Plummer Senior Housing Commissioners discussed a plan moving forward to ensure there is adequate and safe housing for all seniors in Commerce City. Staff along with commissioner Ledesma will create a draft of ways in which the senior commission can advocate for other seniors in the city to be presented to the rest of the group next meeting. Resource Fair This item was not discussed and will be tabled for next meeting. 4. Other Business Council agenda topics of interest Commerce City Page 1 Senior Commission Meeting Minutes October 14, 2021 -BREDAC is seeking members. The Blue Ribbon Economic Development Advisory Committee (BREDAC) was established by resolution 2021-58 to evaluate and advise City Council regarding economic development best practices and strategies to attract resident- and visitor- serving businesses, primarily, and to elevate Commerce City’s profile from an economic development perspective. -Commissioners are encouraged to attend City Council meetings and participate during public communication. 5. Upcoming events and announcements Next meeting, November 11 (Veteran’s Day). City offices will be closed. 6. Public Comment No public comment. 7. Adjourn Motion to adjourn by commissioner Boyd.
