Call to Order Chair Plummer called the meeting to order at 3:04 p.m. Present 11 - Commissioner Anita Mercado, Commissioner Carol Taylor-Boyd, Commissioner Carole Harvell, Alternate Commissioner Diane Narvaez, Ex Officio Gabriela Adeshewo, Commissioner George Maxey, Mayor Pro Tem Jennifer Allen-Thomas, Commissioner Mary Chan, Commissioner Mary Natho, Council Member Susan Noble, and Commissioner Tillie Villareal Absent 2 - Commissioner Jennie Loveridge, and Commissioner Myrna Ferguson 2. Approval of Minutes Min 23-136 Minutes of April 13, 2023 Meeting Commissioner Harvell made a motion to approve the minutes of the April 13, 2023 meeting. Vice Chair Boyd seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. 3. Public Comment James Hayes presented on a new active adults community in Commerce City. Mayor Pro Tem Allen-Thomas and Council member Noble excused themselves from the presentation. 4. Monthly Budget Update Staff provided a budget update. 5. New Business None. Commerce City Page 1 Senior Commission Meeting Minutes - Final May 11, 2023 6. Subcommittee Reports: A. Senior Resource Fair The Commission discussed the Senior Resource Fair. Commissioner Harvell made a motion to buy a banner for an amount not to exceed $150, to book transportation for the event in an amount not to exceed $875 and to move $925 from the General Misc. budget to the Senior Resource Fair Misc. budget. Commissioner Villareal seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. B. Senior Outreach Events This item was not discussed. 7. Old Business: A. Memorial Day Parade Chair Plummer led a discussion on the memorial day parade and planned logistics. It was determined that the Commission would host a table at the concert after the parade to share information about the Senior Resource Fair. 8. City Council Update Council member Noble provided a City Council Update and shared about the upcoming town halls. 9. Adjourn Chair Plummer adjourned the meeting at 5:01 p.m. Commerce City Page 2
