Call to Order Chair Plummer called the meeting to order at 3:05 p.m. Present 11 - Commissioner Anita Mercado, Commissioner Carol Taylor-Boyd, Commissioner Carole Harvell, Alternate Commissioner Diane Narvaez, Ex Officio Gabriela Adeshewo, Commissioner Jennie Loveridge, Commissioner Mary Chan, Commissioner Mary Natho, Commissioner Tillie Villareal, Commissioner Carlita Plummer, and Commissioner Tina Ledesma Absent 4 - Commissioner George Maxey, Mayor Pro Tem Jennifer Allen-Thomas, Commissioner Myrna Ferguson, and Council Member Susan Noble 2. Mid-Year Celebration The Commission celebrated the Senior Resource Fair. 3. Guest Speaker: Kate Darwent, Senior Needs Assessment Kate Darwent from Corona Insights provided an update on the status of the Senior Needs Assessment. The Commissioners discussed. 4. Approval of Minutes Min 23-182 Minutes of June 8, 2023 Meeting Vice Chair Boyd made a motion to approve the minutes of the June 8,2023 meeting. Commissioner Chan seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. 5. Public Comment None. 6. Monthly Budget Update Staff provided a budget update. Senior Commission Grocery Bags Vice Chair Boyd made a motion to approve funding to order 200 grocery bags. Commissioner Chan seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. 8. Subcommittee Reports A. Senior Outreach The Commission discussed upcoming Senior Outreach events. A motion was unanimously approved to increase the budget to $1,000 for the upcoming outreach events. B. Senior Resource Fair The Commission discussed the 2023 Senior Resource Fair. 9. Old Business: 1. Senior Resource Guide Additions Commissioner Natho made a motion to allow staff to add and remove resources to the senior resources webpage with a monthly update item on the agenda. Vice Chair Boyd seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. 10. City Council Update None. 11. Adjourn Chair Plummer adjourned at 5:08 p.m. Commerce City Page 2
