Call To Order/Roll Call Chair Carlita Plummer called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. Present 8 - Mayor Pro Tem Susan Noble, Commissioner Carol Taylor-Boyd, Ex Officio Tina Ledesma, Commissioner Carlita Plummer, Council Member E. Diane Narvaez, Council Member Melinda Mcgowan, Commissioner Mary Natho, and Commissioner Scott Hefty Excused 2 - Council Member Kristi Douglas, and Commissioner Carole Harvell Absent 2 - Commissioner Gabriela Adeshewo, and Commissioner Myrna Ferguson 2. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Commissioner Hefty, Seconded by Commissioner Mcgowan, to approve these minutes with the corrections to the attendance, name, and verbage on city council update. Min 24-089 Minutes of May 9th 2024 meeting Attachments: Meeting Minutes May 9 2024 3. Public Comment - There was no public comment. 4. Lunch & Learn 1 Retrospective Review Members reviewed comments from the retrospective on the first Lunch and Learn held in April and discussed modifications for future events. 5. Lunch & Learn 2 Details The commission reviewed the flyer for the second Lunch and Learn to be held on July 30th and discussed the food and marketing for the event. Commerce City Page 1 Senior Commission Meeting Minutes June 13, 2024 6. Senior Resource Fair Retrospective Members discussed their experience with the recent Senior Resource Fair. 7. Monthly Budget Update The commission reviewed expenses from the Senior Resource Fair and reviewed the budget for the third Lunch and Learn. Members discussed redistributing funds from the Senior Resource Fair. A motion was made by Commissioner Hefty, Seconded by Commissioner Narvaez to move $2,000 from the Senior Resource Fair budget and redistribute $1,000 to the third Lunch and Learn Budget and $1,000 to miscellaneous. Ayes: 8 - Mayor Pro Tem Noble, Commissioner Taylor-Boyd, Ex Officio Ledesma, Commissioner Plummer, Council Member Narvaez, Council Member Mcgowan, Commissioner Natho and Commissioner Hefty Excused: 2 - Council Member Douglas and Commissioner Harvell 8. Senior Assesssment The commission reviewed the findings reported in the Senior Needs Assessment and planned an outline to present before council on July 22nd. 9. New Business Members discussed planning for the midyear celebration at the July 11th commission meeting. 10. Other Business No other business was discussed. 11. City Council Updates Mayor Pro Tem Noble updated the commission on a recent item in City Council. 12.
