Call To Order/Roll Call Meeting called to order at 3:09pm. Attendees: Sue Mcgowan, Carli Plummer, Carol Boyd, Scott Hefty, Antonia Dell, Tina Ledesma. Visitor: Maria Zubiate Absent: Councilmembers Noble & Douglas, Diane Narvaez, Mary Kay Natho, Myrna Ferguson, and Gabriela Adeshewo. 2. Speaker: George Lewis on CDBG Programs Presentation will be shared to board. Recommended action - finding organizations that specifically serve senior residents to apply for grant funding. Must be a 501c3 and work on a reimbursement cycle. Funding for Public Works project from CDBG funds was discussed, and concerns were raised about that taking funds away from populations in need. The group discussed going to City Council and presenting their concerns during public comment. Application workshop for CDBG projects will be available in March. 3. Approval of Minutes Min 25-046 SC January Meeting Minutes Carol moved to approve the January meeting minutes. Scott seconded the motion, which was approved unanimously. 4. Public Comment None 5. Meeting Dates & Event Presenters Commerce City Page 1 Senior Commission Meeting Minutes - Final February 13, 2025 25-105 Senior Commission Presenters Group requested to have the Community Well-Being Manager as their guest for the March monthly meeting, to discuss the department and commission's roles/goals. Lunch & Learns: Chosen dates of April 23rd (Bison Ridge), July 16th or 23rd (Eagle Pointe), and September 24th (Bison Ridge). All events will be from 12-2pm. Topics/speakers to pursue are Reverse Mortgage Lender, NYMBL, and Anythink Library. The back up option is King Soopers. Transportation needs to be arranged between the Rec Centers and senior homes, and catering will be discussed in March to see if they want to pursue Bison Grill. Calendar of events should be posted on Senior Commission webpage. 6. Resource Fair Debrief & Planning Subcommittees to start planning and coordinating with staff. A walkthrough will be scheduled in late March. Vendor registration will be sent in March with a 5/15 deadline. Sponsors were discussed and decided to cover food and beverages. Give Servicios a better location, use of a-frame, and included in ad. 7. New Business Jordan Roberts will be filling in as Liaison for the March meeting, and the Senior Navigator will be joining in April. 8. Other Business None 9. City Council Update None 10.
