Call To Order/Roll Call Present 12 - Commissioner Brianna Talmadge, Commissioner Carlos Rojas, Commissioner Diana Munoz, Commissioner Jahaira Bueno-Rodriguez, Commissioner Jesus Vidana, Commissioner Jordan Robinette, Council Regular Jose Guardiola, Commissioner Kyle Pham, Commissioner Michael Kelley, Council Regular Nicole Frank, Commissioner René Bullock, and Commissioner Stephani Struwe Absent 2 - Commissioner Andrea Jimenez, and Commissioner Jose Rodriguez 2. Ice Breaker Commissioners went around and shared one thing they'd like to get out of the planning retreat and one thing they'd like to do in the Youth Commission. 3. Youth Commission Overview Commissioners went over the Youth Commission Guide and several changes will be made to it. 4. Calendar Commissioners reviewed proposed meeting topics for when the commission is not planning the conference. Twelve total were selected. Staff and councilmembers will work together to schedule them troughout the year. 5. Break/Lunch 5. NLC - San Antonio NLC Trips/ Conferences Councilman Guardiola and Councilwoman Frank discussed the point matrix system for the NLC conferences. A couple changes will be made to the point values of certain events and which events are required and optional. Commissioners decided that a commissioner can only attend one conference per school year regardless of whether they lead in points. For the upcoming NLC conference in San Antonio, Texas, Brianna Talmadge and Stephani Struwe have been selected. They have until the next meeting to confirm with staff if they can attend and must write an essay expressing why they would like to attend. Jasnoor is the new Chair of the CCYC, Commissioner Talmadge is the new Co-Chair, and Commissioner Zamora will stay on as Secretary. 7. CCYC Conference Commissioners got together with their committees. Each group brought back ideas to the whole committee. 8. Adjourn Planning meeting was adjourned at 2:06 p.m. Commerce City Page 2
