Call To Order Chair Smith called the meeting to order at 6:34 p.m. Present 6 - Commissioner Isabela Velasco-Zubia, Commissioner Morgan Smith, Commissioner Michael Kelley, Commissioner René Bullock, Commissioner Travis Watkins, and Council Member Kristi Douglas Absent 3 - Commissioner Ingrid Barnett, Commissioner Keegan Jones, and Commissioner Kenia Prieto 2. Approval of Minutes Min 22-242 Minutes of the Sept. 1, 2022 Meeting Commissioner Acevedo made a motion to approve the minutes of the Sept. 1, 2022 meeting. Commissioner Kelley seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. Min 22-264 Minutes of the Sept. 15, 2022 Meeting Commissioner Velasco-Zubia made a motion to approve the minutes of the Sept. 15, 2022 meeting. Commissoner Bullock seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. 3. Guest Speaker The Guest Speaker, Doreen Falcon, discussed being an author with the Commissioners. Calendar Review Commissioner Bullock made a motion to cancel the November 3 meeting.and to move the December 1 meeting to December 8. Commissioner Velasco-Zubia seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. B. Youth Commission + YAC Combination Staff Liaison, Jenny Penoncello, presented on combining the Youth Advisory Council and Youth Commission. The Commissioners discussed. C. By-Laws Review/Approval The Commission discussed the by-laws and tabled approval to the next meeting. D. Upcoming Volunteer Events This item was discussed under Calendar Review. 5. New Business Staff Liaison, Jenny Penoncello, shared information on the 2023 Cherry Creek Diversity Conference. Commissioner Acevedo made a motion to sign-up for Colorado Youth Diversity annual membership. Commissioner Kelley seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. Commissioner Kelley led a discussion on a voter registration drive. The Commission discussed next steps. Commissioner Kelley led a discussion on a spring Skills for the Future Conference. Councilwoman Douglas gathered input on a future team-bonding activity. 6. Veteran's Day Project Work Time The Commission worked on the Veteran's Day Project. 7.
