Call To Order Vice Chair Velasco-Zubia called the meeting to order at 6:37 p.m. Present 14 - Commissioner Aliyah Acevedo, Commissioner Christina Wickersheim, Commissioner Cobe Koonce, Commissioner Desiree Kennison, Commissioner Isabela Velasco-Zubia, Council Member Kristi Douglas, Commissioner Laura Hellewell, Commissioner Megan Pham, Commissioner Michael Kelley, Commissioner Olivia Cordero, Commissioner Paia Martinez, Commissioner René Bullock, Commissioner Travis Watkins, and Council Member Craig Kim Absent 3 - Commissioner Keegan Jones, Commissioner Kenia Prieto, and Commissioner Morgan Smith 2. Approval of Minutes Min 23-050 Minutes of Feb. 2, 2023 Meeting Commissioner Acevedo made a motion to approve the minutes of Feb. 2, 2023 meeting. Commissioner Cordero seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. 3. New Member Introduction The Commission welcomed the new members, and everyone introduced themselves. Commissioner Hellewell joined the meeting. 4. Team Building Activity Staff Liaison, Leslie Yang, led a team building activity. 5. New Business Staff Liaison, Jenny Penoncello, shared information about the upcoming Tuskegee Airmen event and offered bonus points to Youth Commissioners who attend. Old Business Blood Drive Subcommittee Work Time & Reports Commissioner Bullock suggested partnering with community partners. The Commission discussed. The subcommittees met and presented their findings. Commissioner Kennison made a motion to host the Youth Commission Blood Drive on June 14, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Eagle Pointe Rec Center. Commissioner Acevedo seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. 7. Other Business Staff Liaison, Leslie Yang, shared Earth Day event details and presented an idea for the Youth Commission to host a craft table and volunteer on April 22, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. 8.
