Call to Order Chair Smith called the meeting to order at 6:36 p.m. Present 15 - Commissioner Aliyah Acevedo, Commissioner Christina Wickersheim, Commissioner Desiree Kennison, Council Member Kristi Douglas, Commissioner Laura Hellewell, Commissioner Megan Pham, Commissioner Morgan Smith, Commissioner Olivia Cordero, Commissioner Paia Martinez, Commissioner René Bullock, Commissioner Travis Watkins, Council Member Craig Kim, Commissioner Elizabeth Martinez-Atayde, Commissioner Manuel Guardiola-Rodriguez, and Commissioner Serrianna Safieh Absent 6 - Commissioner Cobe Koonce, Commissioner Isabela Velasco-Zubia, Commissioner Keegan Jones, Commissioner Kenia Prieto, Commissioner Michael Kelley, and Commissioner Alejandra Guardiola 2. Guest Speaker: Rosemarie Russo, Environmental & Sustainability Planner Guest Speaker, Rosemarie Russo, presented on her role at the City as an Environmental and Sustainability Planner. 3. Approval of Minutes Min 23-096 Minutes of March 16, 2023 Meeting Commissioner Acevedo made a motion to approve the minutes as amended. Commissioner Cordero seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. 4. Monthly Budget Update Staff Liaison, Jenny Penoncello, provided a budget update. Commerce City Page 1 Youth Commission Meeting Minutes - Final April 6, 2023 5. New Business: A. Name Tag Approval The Commission discussed and decided to wait to order name tags. B. Washington D.C. De-Brief The Commissioners who attended the National League of Cities Conference in Washington D.C. shared about their experience. C. MFSD Funding Discussion Staff presented on MFSD Funding. The Commission discussed and developed an idea to share with Parks, Recreation and Golf. 6. Old Business: A. Earth Day Activity Staff Liaison, Leslie Yang, presented a craft idea for Earth Day. Commissioner Kennison made a motion to move $700 to the Earth Day budget and $300 to the Blood Drive budget from the original Skills for the Future Conference budget. Commissioner Cordero seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. B. Blood Drive Update Staff Liaison, Leslie Yang, presented a blood drive update. 7. Other Business None. 8.
